I take sertraline but still struggling with depression it hits me the minute I wake up

Hi again! Sorry to hear this! This is a question for the doc. Nobody here can evaluate that. Generally it's a question of either a dosage change or a change in medication or the addition of another medication. Further, there is always the possibility that, on average, the medication is giving you relief but that then you have a crisis, which is short-lived, and you have breakthrough depression. My psychoanalyst, M.D. says that "Progress is not linear," meaning that, for various reasons, relapses are possible. Just like in "normal" life for people who do NOT suffer from anxiety and depression, life has ups and downs, some days are better than others. Ditto for us who suffer anxiety and depression--some days are better than others. As they say, "It will pass."
