anxious about trip

Life has been great lately and anxiety hasn’t been too bad. Tonight, however, my boyfriend and I are driving about three hours and staying overnight at a hotel because tomorrow afternoon we are seeing an nhl hockey game. Technically we could’ve gone up tomorrow morning but this is his Xmas gift and I thought it would be easier to go up the night before and not have to rush. For some reason I’m really anxious and I don’t know why. We’ve done many overnight trips the past year and I’ve been okay. I guess I’m nervous I’ll get a stomach bug or norovirus or food poisoning or hell get it, and we’ll be three hours away from home. I just have a lot of anxiety and I feel dumb

I’m so sorry you are going through this when it’s supposed to be a fun time. I hope the anxiety will subside enough for you to enjoy yourself.

I just feel dumb for being anxious and I just wish I could know if I wouldn’t get sick

don’t feel dumb! It’s so normal to feel anxious before a trip. Focus on taking deep breaths - maybe listen to some good music along the way?
