hello all. Hope you all are doing fine. I have suffered from depression in 2012 and since then i was on lexapro 20mg. It was in feb 2024 felt like depression coming back and felt lexapro did not work. I went to a Dr and he switched my med from lexapro to desvenlafaxine. I took it for 7 months hoping it will work like lexapro. But anxiety did not settle plus extreme stomach side effects. I waited and waited but very little effect on anxiety. Some days i had extreme anxiety. Then i decided to switch back to an SSRI paxil. Today is my 11th day of taking paxil while reducing desvenlafaxine. Anxiety still there. My anxiety episodes are very long lasting hours and for several days. Please help any ideas in managing Anxiety until paxil takes full effect.

hey JKse,

I didn’t deal to much with depression but definitely anxiety. In 2008 I went on 10mg of Lexapro and it turned out to be amazing for me. Like a light switch. I eventually weened off 3 years later and didn’t have any issues until a couple of years ago due to some medical issues. I went back on Lexapro but it didn’t seem to work that well. Even after going up to 20mg it just wasn’t getting it done. I was switched to Zoloft and that has helped a lot. I’m not 100% there yet but I’m still titrating up. I’m currently at 125mg but it looks like I’ll settle in at 150mg. Hang in there.

Hi, No it stopped working about a year or two ago. I am weaning off very slow 5 mg at a time, I was up to 60 and now down to 25mg. I am telling you it is pure HELL..I would do anything to feel better. there is a website on FaceBook Called withdrawal from SSRi , Paxil etc. The name but not be exactly that but you should be able to find it, let me know if you can't.. I highly think you to look into it.Please let me know ok, best, mindy

Oh okay. I will look into it. I just started taking it. Today is my 12th day taking it. My doctor started with CR 25 mg for 11 days and just bumped my dose to 37.5mg. How long will it take for it to show 100% effect. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it to work sooner than later.
