I am currently in a state hospital. I got NGRI which is not guilty by reason of insanity because I robbed a home when no one was there while in a manic episode. I have been in the hospital for a year and a half. I expect to stay here for a while and have to go through a step-by-step process before the doctors let me out. I am recently getting out of a depressive episode. I had some suicidal ideation and felt like I had no hope for the future. However, I am looking on the brighter side now and want to go back to school. I am working with the providers here at the hospital in order to figure that out. Pursuing school is motivating me. The next step I will have in the hospital is being able to go out into the community on passes. I can't wait for this, and I am looking to move forward with my life.
