I'm in the hospital due to a major panic attack. Thought I was having a heart attack. Blood pressure went really high and had terrible palpitations, sweating and tingling in hands and feet. I am terribly anxious for good reason and can not go on living this way. What do you do when there's too much hurt and you can't control it?

In the hospital
You get help. No one expects you to handle this all on your own. There are professionals out there in the mental health field exactly because we need help sometimes. It’s not something that’s up to you to control, but it is up to you to get the help you need. I’m so sorry you’ve had this horrible attack and I wish you all the best. We are all here for you.
You are in the right place and please continue to get the help you need. Fight the good fight for you, why? There is only one you, makes you very special. If I can be of help I'm here for you. Love, peace, light, joy & hugs!
Thanks. Volunteer EMS guys from my community brought me to the hospital. I feel that they think I'm crazy. There is definitely a stigma out there in certain circles that must be eradicated.
My pleasure, I wish so bad there was a way to get rid of the stigma, ruffles my feathers! Love, peace, light, joy & hugs!
The professionals at the hospital should give you coping strategies to fight off the type of anxiety that you have. I'm glad that you are getting the help that you need. Speak up if you are not getting the support that you want.
I went to the emergency room cause I thought I was having a heart attack. Meanwhile it was a very severe panic attack. I was admitted to the hospital a few months ago and they didn't even offer therapy.
I hope you receive the help you need. These attacks are scary, and few people understand
Anxiety attacks come in all shapes and forms. The good news is that you have identified what it is and what probably is not! Now it comes time to accept the panic and understand how your body reacts to situations. Triggers? Situation? Something led up to this major body sensation. Therapy, diet, exercise and yes.. medication can help you through this. You have to understand you are not alone! The good news it is something you can manage and work with.. ..Have you had anything of this strength in the past?
Take one day at a time. Try to be grounded in the moment. Listen to music go for a walk. Maybe check out a small museum. Adult coloring book is sometimes relaxing and helps with depression and anxiety. Truth is I'm where you are at now and I'm very close to giving up. Its taking all of my self to stay focused on the here and now so I don't feel overwhelmed and finally decide that eternal peace is better. Like you theres understandably alot of pain. I'm a survivor of d.v. Take a bath or hot shower and listen to some music or watch a comedy. Get an extra blanket and curl up. Listening to a fan helps me. Or I started journaling again and even though i sometimes tear the papers up it still helps to get it out. Just focus on this hour this moment this day. Then hours become days then weeks. Be kind with yourself reassure yourself and its ok to talk out loud because it does take the edge off . you survived and now the challenge is to keep surviving. My heart goes out to u. Be kind and gentle to yourself.
Talk to the drs at the hospital and see what they can do to help. Use the resources available to you while you are there.
