Hanging On By a Thread
What's going on?
Lost and Stuck, we're here because we care xx
Are the issues physical or emotional or both? xx
We're here to listen so we can help you my friend
The weight of everything (my anxiety disorders, depression, fear of aging and death and other things) is just far too heavy. It also seems like my anxiety switch has been put into the on position and I cannot turn it off for the last several days.
Also, my energy level is very low and I feel weak.
Hi Lost and Stuck...Thank you for getting back to me. You my friend at age 44 are in
the prime of your life. But what you are feeling has nothing to do with age but with
the emotional baggage you are carrying around. If we concentrate on aging and dying,
then we aren't living. It's like walking around with an umbrella when there isn't a drop
of rain in the sky. I do believe in what you are feeling though and do not want to
minimize the effects it's having on you. This happens at times in our lives where
the Fear switch turns on and there seems to not be an off button.
But know that there is. It is within you. First you must address where these feelings
are coming from. Do you see a therapist?? It's more important when we get stuck
in a "fear begetting fear cycle". No amount of medication will turn off those feelings
magically. You say this has been going on the last several days. What happened
several days ago to put you in this frame of mind?
Did someone die, leave you? What changed in your life that put those thoughts
into high gear? Step by step you need to know what the cause is before you can
address the anxiety. Talking and reading other's experiences on this forum may
answer your own questions about life. Keep writing about your feelings, don't bury
them or you end up carrying them around making you feel tired, lost and hopeless.
This doesn't have to be my friend. We're here to help you through this phase. xx
Both. I am about to leave for work. When I get back, I will explain in greater detail.
Let me gather my thoughts
