I quit smoking many years ago, but i do vape, and just cant stop the vape, yes its an addiction like food can be, and now i read that vaping is bad I cant seem to stop no matter how much i try.
Recently i was out of vapes and i really thought i was going crazy and i reluctantly bought more.
Has anyone here managed to quit?.........and how.

My psychiatrist gave me Chantix years ago and I quit a 1-1/2 pack a day habit. After the recommended 3 months of taking Chantix, I stopped the Chantix and immediately relapsed with smoking. But my psychiatrist worked with me, letting me have Chantix again, this time for a very long time (2 to 3 years), during which I very very gradually tapered off the Chantix without smoking. I stopped smoking for around 10 years. Best of luck to you. It is a bear of a habit - but definitely worthy of stopping. And if you do quit, always remember you are 1 puff away from a relapse because nicotine is one of the most addictive substances there is. So if you can quit, please do not ever take it for granted. Good luck to you.
I hope you are well and I read one of your other posts by which you mentioned myself .
Given your positive nature , I had to read from you that is always possible to transform you life and given your life experience in becoming mortgage free before 40 , this is a massive achievement and to be independent and self reliant .
I hope to be on this site on and off whilst I am away but the site does provide great support for those with low self confidence and low self esteem all by products in my experience of Narcissistic parents.
Also , given the many obstacles you have been through in life , the right house was waiting for you and with patience and determination you were able to buy your dream home .

I never vaped, (I don't have any personal info on that) but if you are on any meds for anxiety/depression, I would still ask your doc/psych if using any nicotine medication would have any interactions with current meds.

With myself it's saying no to junk food thats been a problem and when I do 12 hour shifts I take in my own nice healthy food to stop me from stopping for greasy things at fast food joints on the way back!
Many years ago on another board by accident I helped some other members there when I said about getting left out by family and others had as well and wondered if the reason people were overweight because of nonsense like that?
As a mature adult you see that for the nonsense it is but a 5 year old child will think it's the absolute truth that they are left out because somethings wrong with them rather than a problem with those who do those things!
Yesterday I was out at swimming and I had wanted another chocolate bar and had told myself no to it!
How are you and Dylan getting on?
Last Friday I was doing my 8/8 shift at work and a woman who works nights decided she was starting work at 7pm and doesn't get paid until 8pm.
It was 7.30pm and I was in the lounge with the residents chatting and a bell rang and I went to get it and I got shouted at by this woman but I helped the resident ringing the bell anyway and went back downstairs and this woman decided she was going to have a go at me in the kitchen and put me down and I cut her off and told her I wasn't putting up with her crud, got my things and walked out and there wasn't a thing they could do about it!
There had been other incidents that had built up like getting told off about the breakfast trays, told off for having put a pasta salad I had brought in from home in the fridge without putting my name on it, told off for having put a spare loo roll in the bathroom and other things and that on Friday evening to me was the final blow when I walked out and came home early as I was sick of them and now I have had time to calm down I feel I made the right choice and by accident they have done me a favour even though it hurt at the time!
I thought they were going to ring me and ask me to come back but no they haven't!
I don't think they would dare do that after that happened!
I'm glad they showed me their true face before it was too late!
Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you.Dylan's OK but I'm a bit under the weather. I had a lovely day up in London on Monday , meeting my Polish friends who were here for a long weekend. I haven't seen them for over 15 years .
It was a long day and I've been struggling with the fatigue for 2 days - I'm wiped out but it was so good to see them again .
Like I said I'm just thankful I saw what they were like before it was too late and I had become attached to the place then that really really would have hurt a lot harder than what did happen!
With respect though that was stupid and childish over the pasta salad and the breakfast trays in my view!
They had advertised the job back in January and had started someone else back then and it turns out they had done the same to them as well and they had left after a short time as well!
It was in February when they had rung me to ask me did I want to go for interview which I did and offered me the job and I took it as it was there and then all that happened!
It's a lesson in not taking things in desperation and I know not to go near that employer again!
