I've been in your shoes! First off, You are not going to die! Secondly, you are so worried about it that your body is reacting to your thoughts. It's sensing that you are in danger because you keep making yourself think you are. I promise you that you are not in danger and the feelings you are having are the body's normal reacting to your thoughts.

It's like when you think of a sad memory or hear a song that triggers a memory and then you cry. There's nothing causing your tears but your THOUGHTS. When you feel these weird physical feelings (weakness, tingling, bubbling, fizzing etc) relax, tell yourself that they are NORMAL feelings and you are OK!!!

Remind yourself that they will go away shortly like they have before. If you want to try Xanax, go to the doctor and get the lowest dose. It will relax you, but don't get reliant on it. Try to calm yourself naturally first. Sometimes just knowing it's there if needed can help.

You need to stop worrying about dying. I went through it for 5 years. I finally accepted that I may die... I will die... We all do and it stopped my worrying.

Read help and healing for your nerves! It helped me feel better.

You'll get through this! I did! You can and will!!!!

Oh and yeah my mom said the same thing. People didn't understand that I had a REAL extreme fear going on.

But it was an imaginary fear brought on by my own thoughts.

Keep reaching out on here when you need people! We understand and we support you!

Im out of work i have 2 kids my wife works 12hr shits my kids are 3 and 4.My bills are stacking im unable to really help jobs hard to find temp services pay nothing and never last. For some reason when i gear about somthing happing to some one i know like i automatically think its gonna be me.My house is a wreck. Idk i think im losing it

I'm telling you I've been there! I thought I was going to die in my sleep, I was convinced! Then my friend died in her sleep. I couldn't deal with life. I just wanted to lay there and try to relax and for everyone to understand that I didn't feel good. No one got it. I went to the doctor multiple times. Same routine with ekgs and checking vitals. My chest always hurt. Doctor couldn't find anything told me he thought some short term meds would be good to "reset my system". I tried them one time and it scared me. I felt paralyzed and didn't feel emotion other than initially feeling afraid. I decided I needed to take a holistic approach. I tried breathing exercises, meditation, relaxing, changed my diet. Oh speaking of which I also insisted on blood test to make sure I didn't have any defiency or medical condition triggering it.

I had no income. The house was in foreclosure. My husband and I had problems because I felt like he didn't care because he didn't support me that there was something wrong and he didn't help with the house or kids and I was desperately needing someone to help me and care about me. I desperately wanted to be ME again. I hated not being myself. I hated living in fear and feeling like no one understood or wanted to help.

I slowly pulled myself out of that hell. I started a house cleaning business, and it started feeling good to have some money in my pocket that I earned. I think part of the problem was never having anything of my own, I was just the person to do for everyone else and felt taken advantage of.

I let go of worrying about debt. If I can't pay them I can't. I worried about having the necessities first. That debt still sits there. All 20k. I just stopped worrying about it. Was not my intention to not pay it back but if I can't, I can't.

It took time but I'm in a completely different place in life. I was so worried about being stuck forever, I somewhere in me knew it would all work out like always, but I felt like I was drowning and would never get out at that time.

Do something for yourself! Start with a check up! If you are worried about getting psych drugs and you don't want them, tell them you don't want them! They will not force it! Talk to a counselor... Not a psychiatrist just a counselor. They can help you feel good about you and help you figure out how to change your situation because if it is just stress and unhappiness causing your weird feelings and chest pains, then you need to make some changes.

I am not a doctor just someone who's been through a lot. There is much more to my story but I don't think those issues pertain to your situation.

And stop googling your symptoms, been there too! I thought I had everything including sepsis, rabies, encephalitis.... Omg you name it I thought that could be my problem.

Not at all... I'm perfectly healthy!

Have you ever got that fight or flight feeling during panic/anxiety attacks

Icare4u profile image
Icare4u in reply to HelpMePlz86

Yes! I felt like these attacks would just occur out of nowhere. I had nothing on my mind or nothing physically happen and suddenly I wouldn't feel right. As soon as that happened I'd get scared and feel flight or fright. I think my system was in overdrive, like on high alert. So easy to set off flight or fright. Now years later I am calm and panic attacks are rare. I am back to normal, very calm in any situation. You will get better, I know you will!

I know it's scary, and you sit there crying because you feel so alone and don't know what's going on... But you can get better! And life will get better!

HelpMePlz86, there are hundreds of us here who have felt exactly the way you feel now. And I tell you for certain: you are not dying, nothing terrible is going to happen to you and given time you CAN regain your normal mental wellbeing.

What your mother calls hypochondria is more properly called General Anxiety Disorder. But as none of us here are doctors or healthcare professionals I must suggest that you visit your doctor soon and receive proper confirmation and the further reassurance that your fear of impending death is groundless.

You are willing to consult and believe Doctor Google but your own properly qualified doctor you avoid. With respect this is not best practice.

For some reason known only to you your nervous system has reached anxiety overload and is blowing a few fuses. Anxiety has the ability to imitate perfectly almost every physical illness known to medical science. It also places strange ideas in our minds that are difficult to dislodge.

Beside its ability to mirror real illness, anxiety magnifies our perception of possible threats ten fold or more. Muscular tension in the chest becomes an imminent heart attack, mild stomach pain must be cancer, the normal concern not to die before our time exaggerates into a feeling of impending doom. All LIES caused by Anxiety whispering fake news in our ears.

During this process of anxiety disorder our nervous systems become over sensitised and this is why they fire off these strange feelings and fake ideas. Sensitisation is caused by fear and it therefore follows that recovery lies in overcoming our fear by understanding, reassurance and various methods of self-help you will read about on this forum.

But first stop should be your doctor who probably has at least a hundred with anxiety disorder on his or her books so probably will be more helpful than you imagine.

As I say, recovery will come but only with practice and persistence as 'Let time pass' will also be part of your road plan for recovery.

Hi,

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way, it’s awful!

Definitely see a Dr to help ease your concerns.

Unfortunately anxiety makes everything feel 10 times worse. I’m having some medical issues at the moment and my anxiety is making everything worse, along with the stress of raising 4 young kids and helping my husband run his business as well as keeping the household together.

It just all feels so very overwhelming.

For men is seems harder to seek help, so I applaud you for reaching out.

Keep us updated on how you’re feeling.

Btw I think it's great that you are a stay at home dad! I know you can lose yourself doing for everyone else... Make sure you take care of you too! Even if it's a hobby. What helped me was teaching myself guitar. I was able to escape and relax for awhile.

Why are you afraid to see a doctor? There is No shame in having mental problems. Save your breath with friends and family in discussing how you feel. They don't understand what your going through, they just want you to get over it. See a doctor, could be life saving?

I’m the same way. I always feel weird or off. I’m always scared. I try to fight it when it happens and used distraction techniques to relax or take the breaths in deep for 4 seconds hold for 4, blow out your mouth with pierced lips for 4. It helps.. good luck! We are here if you need us

I am sorry you are going through this. I am not a doctor. What you are describing is a common form of a Somatic Symptom Disorder. Most often this is the result of a Trauma of some type. Over the years this has gone by many names such as Shell Shock, battle fatigue, or Hypochondria, and has several different general causes. I have C-PTSD. What is causing your symptoms is not that important at the moment, The important part is getting the help you need. You owe it yourself and your family. Talk to your doctor, find a therapist. Meanwhile some of the things that have helped me are the 3X3 method. look at an object and say its name keep it simple, Cup and then take a beep breath and let it out slowly. bottle deep breath, TV Deep breath and then repeat this 3 times. Or sit down on a chair just in front of the backrest. cross your arms over your heart and rock slowing forward and back. AS you move backward breath in and visualize the air coming in as a peaceful fluffy white cloud. then as you breath out rock forward and concentrate on the air leaving your body as dark clouds containing all the worry and fret. Just a minute or two is all it takes to focus your mind on the here and now so you can keep going. Both of these were taught to me by my Therapist and were used in conjunction with EMDR treatments. Both are good temporary fixes to the problem. You will need help finding the root cause and a permanent solution. You can start with your family doctor or go online for local behavioral health clinics. Don't wait 50 years like I did. Do it now. You owe it to yourself and your family.

I've been going through much the same. Those feelings in your chest before and after the thoughts are most likely adrenaline or kind of like nerves responding to the fear. Allowing the fear thoughts so often and not combating them with calming truth thoughts can cause your brain to start making more fear thoughts. Don't feed the fear thoughts. If something is really wrong, deal with that area appropriately but don't feed into the fears because it just makes it worse. It sounds like your body is under stress from the prolonged fear and anxiety. My counselor told me," no Google searches" it feeds the anxiety. Try to stay grounded. Look for truth. Don't feed into the fear thoughts but cut them off immediately with truth. If you have true symptoms of a health condition though, see your dr about it. Make sure you are eating healthy and getting enough sleep. Try to do grounding peaceful activities to help calm your body back down. Sending you love and prayers that peace and truth will cover you. You are not alone in this and you can overcome it. We are here with you.

Please, know first YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS. Anxiety sucks! Aches and pains sucks! But guess what? You are trying to heal or find a solution. I think that is brave. Iagee with the comment to talk to your doctor about those feelings of anxiousness. Don't diagnose yourself to the doctor all YOU think is wrong. Talk about where it started or where the pain started and how it makes you feel. Be honest with yourself and him. *Breathe.....

Oh, keep us updated! :)
