I'm in a class full of people that I've never met before and I feel so out of place. I'm not sure I'm going to come back because of the anxiety. I hate that I'm this way. What am I going to do going forward? I can't run away for the rest of my life😔

Trying to fit in
hi, I’m sorry that is happening. Change and new people and places are so hard! Have you been through something like this before? If so, how did it go? I find that if I can stick it out and get through the first discomfort it starts to get easier and more familiar each time. So you’ve already done the hardest part going on the first day! I’m not sure what kind of class it is, but it always helps me to have a friend come with me to new things so I’m not so nervous. Is that a possibility until you start feeling more comfortable? Can you take the class online instead of in person?
Hi Ya:
Before heading for the exit, why not give it at least one more go? I say that because, when we are prone to anxiety, sometimes our brain box tells us to go on the defensive despite there being no actual threat. Sometimes it stands in opposition to our true intent.
In that you have signed up for this class, there is part of you that wants to do it. Furthermore, if you attend again, despite what your brain currently says, you might obtain a sense of achievement because you will have conquered what turned out to be an irrational thought. I have experienced anxiety as well, however, as much as is possible, I have decided to now stare down my fears and apprehensions rather than being their slave.
Best of luck
