hi. I’m a single 49 yr old female living in Michigan. I have agoraphobia, anxiety, depression, and ptsd. I also have a seizure disorder so I’m unable to drive and it’s very difficult for me to leave my apartment. This is my first post. I’m just looking for people to connect with that have similar issues or are familiar with these issues. It’s very difficult connecting to people on the outside who don’t have or understand these problems.

Welcome to the community.
It is very hard to connect with some people. You will find a lot of support here.
Do you have a chihuahua? Most of us love pets. Please feel free to share a photo

hi. Thanks for replying. I hope you are having a good day. My chihuahua actually just died last October but I still really miss him. Thanks for the info. I’m still trying to figure out all the resources on this platform. Hope everything is going good with you
Hi! I’m new also- and this is my first post. Welcome!
I'm a 38 yo male and this is also my first post here. I also suffer from agoraphobia, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. I've had less than stellar results w therapy and medication in the past and I've been increasingly isolating myself for a few yrs but I just put my dog of 5yrs down a few days ago and I just feel completely helpless and hopeless so idk I'm just trying to do something. Idk what to do anymore. I saw your post and ig I can relate so I'm reaching out. I'm open to chat if that's what you're looking for but I feel I should mention: I've experienced a lot of trauma and sometimes I do tend to ramble. I rly try not to make things Abt me but i am aware of my limitations and sometimes, when I start talking, I can't stop.
Hello and Welcome. I too have agoraphobia, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. It is so, so helpful connecting here with people who understand. Other people just do not understand. There is so much support here.
Hi thanks for the reply. It’s nice to know this place is so helpful. Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too. You said it is difficult to leave your apartment. Are you getting out at all right now? Some of us here are not leaving the house at all. Some are able to leave, but it is very difficult. Someone here has recovered from agoraphobia and shares her success stories with us. No matter where we are at with it, we are still able to support each other because we all understand. Feel free to share more. I would be happy to talk with you. You don't have to go through this alone.
Welcome Chihuahualuv. Agoraphobia is very real and very frustrating for sure. You’re def not alone and it can be overcome. Do you do any therapy or meditation? Or practice any mindfulness? There’s a lot of great videos on YouTube for how to do those. Mindfulness is great to just focus on identifying things around you and feeling grounded. Let me know if you’d be interested in some links or explaining it a bit. Hang in there.
Hi. I was just about to unsubscribe to these emails when your post caught my eye. Maybe because of some commonalities. We are about the same age, both single, and we are both dog lovers. I'm also on disability and suffer from anxiety Maybe we will exchange another message. Until then take good care of yourself.
