I was put on remeron 15 mg at the first of November 2023. I was changed over with a direct switch from cipralex 15 mg. I had nausea for 1st 2 months and such a dry mouth that I was waking up at night choking because my mouth was so dry. I was breaking through and it wasn't managing my depression. At the first of Feb 2024 I talked to my Dr. and she said do a direct switch back to cipralex 15 mg. Well I have just gone through 3 1/2 weeks of HELL!!! I had every withdrawal side effect known to Remeron withdrawal. I am finally coming out of it. Dr said in hindsight she should have tapered me off but didn't think 3 months would cause any problems. This stuff is poison!!!If you are going off this remeron please tapered off and save yourself from hell!!!

I am on Remeron now and want to get off it because it has caused a great deal of weight gain. Thank you for the tip to taper off of it!!!
Slowly. Very slowly.
"Slowly. Very slowly."
^ Very important advice right here.
.
(For any new person on meds reading this)
Please do not try to go off of meds "cold turkey".
Keep slowly (with your doctor's advice of course) decreasing the dosage, and stay there for a few days before slowly trying to decrease the next dosage.
.
If you have any problems with coming off your meds, please let your doctor know.
