sometimes it all stacks up. I don’t know if any of you have ibs but sometimes it’s just too much. Along with depression. All these topics are so taboo. I really need a therapist. I have a number but tonight I just wanted to scream in frustration with mental health issues AND ibs. And aging. Thanks for listening. 🤣 I’m going to sleep now

hi. I have ibs as well
Carrera- I'm sorry you are having such a a rough time. I too have IBS and severe anxiety & depression-i get it. The anxiety triggers the IBS & then can't leave the house-and starts the cycle...I hope you have a good day & are able to give yourself some grace-im sure you deserve it💖
Yeah, I'm an aging neurotic with IBS. It sucks. I had some success with probiotics, though, believe it or not.
I also have IBS and Gerd as well as anexity and depression. Some days are better than others. I was told by GI dr. I have to learn to live with it. Dietitian was really not much help. It was like one size fits all. It doesn't. Alot of the health care provider's just don't get it. Everyone is different. Yes it is a struggle but you can do it. I pray to God every day, do meditation, exercise, do gratitude journal and am currently in CBT. My therapist is great. Finally got one that really cares. I am happy to talk with you anytime. Hang in there. You have got this.
At times it's good to scream to get some relief.
The pain and discomfort of IBS is not something that can be described in such a way that people really understand what it's like unless they have it themselves. I do, and I understand the impact that it can have not only on how you feel but on how you act too. When mine flares up really badly I just want to curl up with a hot water bottle and not engage with anyone. The mere thought of having visitors is quite overwhelming at times and you feel so self conscious about yourself, how you look and your actions. People can misinterpret what you say or do when you're in pain and they rarely acknowledge the effect that pain has. Concentrate on looking after you - the rest of the world can catch up later. If you need time out because the pain and cramps are too intense take it. You won't get thought of any better going to a place of work in pain. Sometimes it's our bodies way of telling us it needs time to recharge.
