Does teletherapy work as well?

I'm leaving for the summer in a couple weeks but I want to go back to therapy. Do any of you find that teletherapy is effective? I'm not exactly excited to work a zoom call into my schedule and would much prefer going to someone in person but won't be able to do so. Just curious what you all thought

I have had strictly telephone therapy appts over the past 6 weeks. I am going to ask to set up for video as well because I think I miss the eye contact. ( I used to skype another therapist, years ago and it seemed the same as an in-person session. )

I don't like it but I guess I'm going to keep on doing it.

I don't like it either but can't stop therapy any time soon. Hoping we can give the C-19 virus the old heave ho so that I can resume an in person relationship with my helper.

It’s different and I definitely prefer seeing someone in person but I’ve got used to it over the past few weeks and it’s ok. It’ll never replace physically going to see someone for me, but it’s definitely more beneficial than not having therapy at all.

It's been really hard for me. I teleconference with my therapist twice a week and there's definitely something missing. I have been too isolated enough as it is, and there's something about being in direct communication with someone that is lost, at least for me.

yes!

I have had to take up teletherapy due to COVID-19. I find that it is a good substitute because sometimes I don't have motivation to get up and drive to therapy. However, I also find it to be difficult to get in touch with my emotions. I cry quite often in therapy so crying over a video chart or phone call feels uncomfortable to me. I don't know if you will have that issue, but just something to think about and give you a heads up on.
