I'm sorry to hear that. I agree with twinkly- it might be worth a doctor review to see if it's cardiac in nature but stressors can often give us pains that are deferred from other causes. Good to see if a beta blocker is helpful in her journey at this time. Anxiety can cause lots of other symptoms too. Sending positive thoughts and strength

Thank you so much for your reply. She has a cardiologist appt in March maybe ruling out the heart she can start feeling more at ease. I truly appreciate you 🙏

Thank you so much for your info and glad you are doing much better. She does have a doctors appt on Thursday. Hopefully he gives her something that can fix her tension. I will mention this med to her. 🙏❤️

Hi EMB1225, I sympathize with your daughter's constant chest tension and pain.

I can only speak from my own experience with Anxiety. At the time when anxiety

was persistent 24/7, I started experiencing chest tension and pain due to what was

known as Costochondritis. This is an inflammation of the nerves between the chest

ribs. It can hurt to even press on the pain. I use to use heat for relief. A hot towel

taken right out of the dryer and placed around my neck, shoulders and back seemed

to reduce some of the pain for a while.

I hope you find some answers to your concerns. My best to your daughter :) xx

Thank you so much for your reply. At this moment I gave her a cup of camomile and I got her a warm towel. I keep trying to search for answers and how she can start feeling better.

Thank you and many blessings 🙏

hey EMB!

Unfortunately this is something that I too suffer from, every Dr I have seen for it has sent me away informing me that my chest pains are directly anxiety and stress related, so I kinda left empty handed. If that’s the case for your daughter I have a couple of stuff I do at home that help me manage the pain.

Since mine come mainly from muscle strain from stress, I do RICE every night. Or at least my version of it, cos it varies every night. But Rest, Ice and I try to sleep slightly Elevated and on my back, and instead of compressing my entire chest I use a weighted blanket on my chest while I meditate. I also massage the area gently with skin safe essential oils, usually lavender, and make sure to massage tension in the neck as well. I also use a foam roller for my shoulders and upper back and do a lot of heart opening stretches ( I just YouTube heart opening stretches)

The last thing is advice I got from here actually, someone recommended magnesium supplements. They haven’t gone completely away of course but since I started taking them the pain is a little more tolerable.

I hope any of this could be useful and I hope she feels better!

Hello.. thank you for your reply. Her doctor has done the same thing for her. She saw him on Thursday and all he says is you are fine it just anxiety. She is afraid of medication because it seems like meds get her worse. I have read your message to her and she has agreed to do the foam roller and meditation. Tonight she will sleep with her weighted blanket. Thank you so much for your information. I hope you start feeling better also. 🙏

Honestly that’s so valid, I’ve been managing my panic disorder off meds for about 4 years, I just started meds last month and it’s been a wild ride for me so far so I know its scary. I hope if anything some of this can help manage the pain for her, cos managing pain and anxiety together can feel like pushing a boulder up a mountain.

Sending my best wishes 🍀💖

I hope you get better also and if ever she finds a way out of this I will make sure I send you the info. Best wishes to you also 🙏

Well first things first, I recommend taking your daughter to the doctor and getting a complete physical. Get a full workout done on her heart like an EKG. After everything comes back in the clear and we rolled out, she doesn't have afib or any other cardiovascular issues. Then we can get to the root of the problem.

This is where anxiety is terrible. Because anxiety can cause physical symptoms. And it's different for everybody. Some people get tightness in their chest, some get tingling in their hands or feet. And some get migraines. And it's a vicious loop as well. Because when you are anxious that tends to lead to your heart to race. So you think about your heart racing, which in turn stresses you more out because you're afraid. You're stressing out on the fact that your heart is racing and thinking what could it be. You then start to get headaches. Which then causes you not to sleep well, which makes the headaches worse. Inadequate sleep can lead to body aches. And every little ache can lead you to think there's something very wrong with you. Causing your heart to pound which leads to your chest hurting and back to where we were at the beginning.

Therapy would be the best option. The gold standard is CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy. We have to find out what is making your daughter anxious. Is it generalized anxiety or is it more social anxiety? Or is it panic disorder ? Along with when did this start? Did a certain event happen that caused your daughter these symptoms? I hope you can get your daughter the help that she needs. And I wish her healing and love 🫂❤️ we've all been there before. Let her know that she is not alone in dealing with this.

Thank you so much for your reply. I truly value all of you that are trying to help me with her 🙏. She has a cardiologist appt in March so she can get her heart check. That way like you said tule out that she is heart healthy. She has PTSD from boyfriend breaking up with her to losing her grandmother at the same time. She feels lonely and having all these symptoms doesn’t make it easier for her. 😢. I thank you so much for being here for us. 🙏

Yeah a painful breakup and a death of a love one can be a lot to take on. Fingers crossed on a clear medical check up ❤️

Last thing she needs is health anxiety. Which can happen when people are already in a high state of anxiety. Getting a health scare just adds to it.

I really do think it's anxiety. Just all these events happened so close together and she's stressing out and her body is just responding by giving her these heighten states of arousal. Having the tightness in chest, pounding or racing heart that seem to come out of nowhere. It's just anxiety. Once she gets into therapy and learns coping mechanisms to help it can make them more tolerable and eventually it will go away.

If it is anxiety I recommend a book called Dare by Barry McDonagh. It's a good read and maybe both of you can read it together. Helps you understand anxiety and how to beat it back.

Wishing you and your daughter healing and peace 🫂❤️ and my condolences to you and her for the death of grandma.

thank you so much again for your kindness.. she has a therapist that she video calls twice a month. She was more a ease when I read to her your message where you assure that her anxiety will go away. We will get that book 🙏. Thank you, thank you ❤️

Yes anxiety can be beaten back. You never quite get rid of it. It's necessary evil. You need that fight or flight system to escape danger. Only problem is that we live in the modern world and there isn't a tiger after us. We don't really know what to do with this energy. But as someone who has comeback from anxiety, you can beat it into submission. It'll just be background noise 😊

Dare: A New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks by Barry McDonagh (also there is a wonderful app that can accompanies this book with the same name. I believe if you buy the book you can get full access to the app for free)

Also another good read is Hope and Health for Your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes

❤️🫂

Thank you we will get those books. I have heard of Claire Weekes book. This is an evil sickness I pray for it to go away soon. 🙏😢

I suffer from anxiety after some trauma these past two months and the first thing I thought of anxiety , panic attacks , GAD

Hi. Yes it’s from anxiety. She did make a cardiologist appt for March. Hopefully all will be good with her heart 🙏

in reply to

Sorry she is 34

She had a calcium exam and all went well. Know living in a rural area it’s hard to get in to see a specialist. Her primary doctor says it’s anxiety but we just want to make sure. 🙏
