Does anyone suffer with any type of tension headaches?I struggle to get a decent night's sleep as my arthritis in my shoulders keeps me awake, and also as I lye down I get chronic backache, last night I went to bed at 2am and was up at 6.30am and then during the day my neck and head feels full of tension, I'm absolutely drained but dred the thought of even going to bed, I feel I'm to young to have these ailments (60) but my life has been full of manual work and seems its caught up with me, boy I'm stuck in an old man's body but with a peter pan brain, I'm waiting on a scan results for a couple of suspicious growths in my adrenal glands, and a larger growth in my pelvic region, which has grown considerably since 2016, yes it was picked up but no action was taken it was only by sheer chance as I ended up in hospital with a kidney stone and perhaps this is giving me backache, but it feels more like my spine, and possibly having degenerative disc problems are causing this constant ache, thanks for looking in, cheers!!!

Hi,Life and health are so important to us as human beings.

Can I suggest a foam wedge to go under your pillow?

My sister had a consult with a physiotherapist (no OT available) to work out the most comfortable angle for sleeping. The wedge was cut to suit.

Here's to better days ahead 🐈‍⬛

Is the wedge for the back? I struggle lying on my back before this condition flared up, as I tend to have a lot of saliva at night and I've choked this way before and I try to sleep on my side but that puts pressure on my shoulders often waking because of the pain and numbness 🙄

Hi again,The wedge is primarily to provide support for her back, to take pressure off.

I can remember her saying she couldn't believe how much difference 15 degrees made.

It's definitely worth looking into

Cheers I'll make some enquiries!!!

This will probably sound dumb but tension headaches are super normal. Considering what you're going through that is hopefully just due to all the stress.Hot herbal tea (no caffeine) can help a lot. The nastier tasting the better. If you put on music or read it helps distract from the taste, you might start to like it too! I drink tea on top on the prescriptions I take to help get to bed.

It's very relaxing, infact the hardest part is sticking to it. I might go have some...

I want to add that this may not just be stress, especially with back issues. I'm too young n' dumb to diagnose. But the tea still helps with pain and is worth a shot!

This could be a different way we acknowledge people, I noticed your over in the USA 🇺🇸 and we use wording in slightly different ways like you spell out English words differently, like color or labor as apposed to our version colour or labour I'm sure you'll have numerous other words that sound the same but are spelt differently, but we all have different ways of explaining ourselves, thanks 😊

Oh I love the ones that are spelled the same and pronounced completely different too. Like aluminum.

Yes I've been diagnosed with them, but currently free at the moment, they are commonly known as suicide headaches, the pain is horrific 😢

Apparently they are the worst known pain to mankind, they take you to dark places, I've never known such pain before, they've had me crying and rocking at the end of the bed not knowing if I even wanted to be here anymore, they are absolutely brutal, thankfully I've now got a medication available that seems to work, tried different ones that worked at the beginning, but then had try a different medication, even nerve block injections in my neck didn't work , and I'm in remission at the moment

hang in there cb1963, that sounds about right for the pain, my father never let anyone in on his pain but I remember being called to pick him up from work during one of these bouts, he wouldn’t go to the hospital he never let me drive him anywhere before in his life, I’ll never forget him reclining the passenger seat after helping him from the floor of his office to the car. he had vomited very neatly into bags in his dark office. all he said was thank you and I helped him into his room. very unreal. he retired not long after that.

A handball medicine ball to roll your neck and upper back. Or a roller the muscle rollers to roll the parts where u feel a lot of muscle tension and pain. That could be what’s causing you the headaches. Try it out. If I can find links will send.

Hi CB. So sorry but you're having all of these medical issues right now. I'll be 55 in September and my knees are starting to bother me at this point. I hear that everybody goes through stuff like that as we're getting older our body starts to deteriorate slowly over time. So much to look forward to huh? I really hope you feel better soon have you ever gone to a chiropractor that might be helpful? My husband has stenosis in his back so believe me we know back pain. My husband's legs bother him a lot too as he was born with clubbed feet and thumbs but he was corrected. He went through 3 operations when he was young. Wishing you well CB. Take care of yourself.

it could be a number of reasons you have headaches. If you’re not getting proper sleep that can cause severe headaches. Do you have sleep apnea ?. Do you snore ? Have you tried taking a warm epsom salt bath right before bed. That may help. I pray for you and your headaches to go away. Sometimes we are lacking in a certain vitamin or mineral and sometimes just having inflammation and pain in our body can cause problems. I hope and pray you feel better soon. Take care

Don't think I snore much, I think it's due to not going bed earlier enough, but soon as I'm in bed I actually ache, the arthritis in my shoulders is keeping me awake and I think I'm physically exhausted, my sleep pattern is terrible tbh , I've got a couple of issues that need looking at the hospital next week maybe thus is going to help, thank you for your help
