I’ve been struggling with increased anxiety as I begin to think about moving out of the house. I’m financially stable, and could easily move out - my sticking point, I do a lot with my mom and get the most joy from shopping with her. When I think about moving out, I am sent into a panic attack over not being able to see my mom everyday.
I’m currently attending therapy to work through this, but my doctor recommended that I add Wellbutrin to my existing medication, Effexor. Effexor has done great for me, prior to this issue, and I am hopeful the addition of Wellbutrin will lift my anxious fog. Has anyone tried this combination? How long did it take before the benefits were felt?

I never used Effexor, but I used Wellbutrin for depression. It worked well for me. But I remember the doctor being concerned that it might increase my anxieties. It helped with my depression. I was still pretty anxious, but it was a manageable anxiousness, not debilitating.
Hi anxiousgolfer. I'm on Effexor but not Wellbutrin. That being said, I have a couple of people close to me that take Wellbutrin and love it. It seems to be effective in a different way than Effexor. From what I know- Unlike many antidepressants that are SSRIs or SNRIs, Wellbutrin is an NDRI (norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor). I would actually like to try it. I hope it works out for you. Keep us posted.
Hi! I’m mostly commenting because I just moved out of my childhood home and I struggled really hard for the first couple of days. I cried every single chance I got over not being with my parents everyday. My mom is my absolute best friend and I felt so uncomfortable in my new apartment and I was just praying everyday that I would start to feel comfortable. I promise you it gets better in time. I FaceTime my mom every single day and tell her what I’m doing every chance I get. I take Zoloft and I thought about upping my medication just to get through this. I’m still anxious but it’s definitely getting better. I promise you that you will be okay. This journey is going to make you sooo much stronger!
