Why do some people believe that's a thing? "Oh you don't deserve to be depressed, my issues are way worse". Is basically what some people think and it's one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. I get feeling like what you're going through is worse than others but straight up saying it is completely out of touch. It's not a competition, we both don't want to live. It's not like there's something called dying ×2. No that would be the end stage for either of us, regardless of why we got there.

It sickens me that I thought this is someone I can even be close to at all. One more reason to hate my guts I guess.

Point is matters that appear silly and trivial to one aren't to another!

I had an upset last Thursday when someone upset me after swimming acting holier than though towards me after I had said about being stressed out over job hunting and I got a patronising lecture do this do that and it felt like an attack and I had said I would see when given the unwanted advice which doesn't commit me to anything.

One of the things I've learned is that people say things that are more hurtful than helpful because some people just don't know. And some people know, but they just can't change. I can remember so many instances of this happening. That's when boundaries become so important.

It bothers you because you have the intelligence to notice such things and the accountability to look in the mirror and be humble about your struggles…that in itself is a strength 🙌

Let’s face it, there are many self absorbed a-holes among us. Try to find the humor in knowing how dumb they really are, and how by being so, they have actually made you stronger 🙂.

Exactly. It's always "why are you depressed, i have it worse". I even got a physical illness - twisted my knee and ppl are telling me "i had it worse, once i broke it". I see ppl going through "less" than what I'm going through and coping "worse" and vice versa. Someone dead by drowning in 2 meters of water is just as dead as someone drowned in 20 meters

I like that comparison very much actually, thank you.
