If I have to go somewhere and it’s planned before the day I usually spend ages checking times of public transport, but it’s multiple times. It’s been known for me to check upto 30 times and even then I’m still not sure.

As with you I get the same bus service just at different times, I know the timetable off by heart and yet I still have to repeatedly check it, I have not found a way out of doing it.

Sitting with back against the wall facing the exit...mapping an escape plan at a place such as a restaurant....where there is actually no threat because your mind goes into hypervigilance when you are in a place for more than 10 minutes....turning around and looking to see who is behind you...because you hear footsteps...the list goes on and on.....

One of the keys to healing social anxiety is realizing that your perception of how you view people and how people view you is totally wrong. You think people are judging you constantly but the reality is that they are too caught up in their own thoughts/life to pay much if any attention to you. The reality is that it is you judging yourself, not them. So learning to question your flawed thinking and perceptions and how you filter them is a good place to begin.

The other thing is that people with social anxiety usually have low-self-worth and an inability to validate themselves and love themselves so developing and practicing true self-acceptance so you feel safe and believe in yourself is important.

There is a lot of good info on youtube on healing both social anxiety and low-self-worth.
