benefits assessments (UK)

I am currently in the initial stages of claiming PIP and I will probably have to attend yet another assessment. I have been signed off from even looking for work by Universal Credit and they have suggested that I apply for PIP but now I have to go through the whole process of being assessed again. Do they not think that it’s stressful enough having anxiety and depression and dealing with it daily. Just as I start to settle down I have to speak to yet another doctor..

Yes it is really stressful and not something especially those with mental health problems should have to keep putting themselves through.

As a cynic I will say the government hopes people don't as they will save money. I think it is deliberately difficult to put people off applying.

I know it's very hard to go through but persevere if only to spite them. Good luck.

Even though it’s a struggle I don’t intend on giving up. Even if I don’t get it.
