Benefits for a pet

People talk about how important a pet can be for anyone but especially for someone with a disability. For three days this week the depression was so bad I barely got off the couch. Mostly I sat and played games on my cell phone or computer and watched TV shows that I have seen a million times. Yesterday my dog kept whining to go out. Prior to those three days I had started again taking him for walks of at least a mile and a half. Then the rain came again so one day turned into three days of just being on the couch. So when Nicholas started whining to go out I figured he was getting used to having long walks again and wanted to go again. So we went - we did almost 3 miles! He was totally exhausted but the depression greatly improved. Today has been a much better day and I even accomplished things. If it wasn't for Nicholas whining to go out I would have spent another day on the couch and would have probably continued again today. Instead I got out of the house and felt so much better afterwards.

Good for you and I understand how you feel. My sister is disabled so I used to walk her lovely dog every day. There was many a time I just wanted to stay indoors but felt too guilty so forced myself out. I always felt a lot better when I got home. x

It really is so nice to have that push. Speaking of the push, Nicholas is wanting me to take him out now. So we are off.

animals know...they know more about us and our moods I think than we do.

My doggy is also my little "therapy" dog. I don't know what I'd do without him. I have great support but my dog is my best friend😁
