Being positive, is it conscious or subconscious?

Just had a strange experience, I have been positive about things for 5 years. Work on this daily and have had good results, recently had some depression, but have recovered now. My thinking on this is the subconscious mind can control us and we dont know much about whats happening until it happens. Little things that happen in life that we dont think much of, still go into the subconscious and can get us down. Like when dreaming, Im positive during the day, but can have negative dreams. So Im thinking the subconscious can send us spiralling down, !!!!!!!

"recently had some depression, but have recovered now."

Good to hear. :)

"I have been positive about things for 5 years. Work on this daily "

When you say, "Working on this daily?"

Do you mean trying to catch your negative thoughts, and purposely trying to consciously change them into positive? (or something else?)

Yes that and doing meditations, taking in all new info on the mind, body and spirit. I use a wide range of self therapy also.

Equally true, I think psychiatric problems can also inhibit being positive. I have always tried my best to be positive but I am schizophrenic, which means paranoia and mood swings can also interfere. We can only do what we can do, and if we do our best, we have done very well, in spite of outward appearances.

I am schizophrenic too and get down with unmonitored thoughts but praying helps

I think that is very true - very often things slip seemingly unnoticed by us at the time into our subconscious only to emerge later on. What I can’t understand is how these little things can suddenly make an appearance and cause us to spiral down. At one stage doctors would ask me what the trigger was for my recurring depression - what caused it this time sort of thing. I could never answer that because it was so many little things coming to a head, if that makes sense….after having laid dormant in my subconscious.

Sorry to hear this G. I don’t know much about the subconscious other than it effects our conscious thoughts. Probably your hypnosis could tell you. Hopefully it’s just a temporary thing. (Maybe you’re just sad about Bury … a lingering effect) … Wishing you the best always my friend.

Conscious thinks it has …..subconscious knows it has

I agree SS, Subconscious feeds the conscious. Since your subconscious “knows” best, listen to it, (if possible)…it will always lead you the right direction. 👍❤️
