So much of the time what we view as being negative in our lives doesn’t have to be that way once we look at it from a new perspective. We can work on what are problems with a hopeful attitude trusting that things can work out.
Sometimes negatives form a cloud of fearful thinking that spreads and never will be truth at all and we waste time here...so do toss the what if’s and toss the nevers and toss should haves and cants.
Focus on what beauty can come to be, from positives noticed that already are and give yourself credit for every good thought and action we are making to see results that change how our lives are seen by us, what our new lives are made of.
Keep believing in what is the core of us; most important to us. Keep that light within shining out brightly like a star in the heavens.

Lovely Starrlight - just like your poem. You have a busy life with family so keeping positive is all important. Being there for them overrides the past. The children are your anchor and every time you laugh and have fun you are the centre of their world.
Love this! I try to be positive as much as I can. When my demons rear their ugly heads I have to remind myself but if being positive gives me a short period of peace I do it.
Go Mrspjsmom! Yeah it’s hard sometimes yes I know I too need reminders like right now I have a few negative thoughts/lies pop up but that’s when I can notice and change them to positive. I was just mind reading and tried to tell myself someone was thinking negatively of me but no that’s all me there. It’ll take time but if we work at it we will get there where positive is the main streaming of thoughts. I did it years ago (and must have slipped and had bad habits) so I know it can be done, just need to get back to it.
This is beautiful, thank you for sharing. Positive self-talk is key. Learning to love and accept yourself just as you are is so important and staying in the present moment. These truths have really helped me. Along with saying I get to instead of I have to. Keep your inspirations coming.

Everything that you are is enough. I know what its like to doubt myself and feel really down ALL the time. It breaks my heart when I hear someone struggles internally the way I do. Because the pain and heart ache is real.
You are so compassionate and perfect just the way you are. You will face your fears when you are ready. You dont have to do EVERYTHING all at once.
I’m already facing some fears. Yeah maybe the bigger can wait and I’ll try not to think of that it just tends to worry me and wreck the peace I do somehow find. I’m sorry you suffer so too. You are defiantly good enough; an amazing person right here and now. Ha I can’t tell if I’m okay probably not usually what even is okay I don’t know anymore. It’s all difficult and waiting for ease is terribly hard.
It’s so hard to think positive when for many years it’s been focusing on the negatives. I’m want to switch my focus on more positive thinking but my inner critic is still trying to get the better of me. Starrlight, how did you begin to start thinking positive and being to keep on that track?

yes, like Opposite Action DBT skills. I’ll definitely try the grateful list and look at it every time I start to feel the negativity coming in, because I do have a lot to be grateful for, thank you 😊
For me, recently I catch myself when I start feeling sad or scared upset and I think ok what was I just thinking of? Sometimes the thought (s) are long gone but if you can know what triggered the negative feeling you can say ok that’s not true or let me restart.
