Hi thinking of all you fellow sufferers my thoughts are with you all 😌. I was wondering if there are any long term users of Sertraline on this site. If so and you’ve gradually had to up your dose how long did it take to see an improvement in your anxiety/depression any info on this would be appreciated thank you 🙏

Hi I have been on sertraline for around 14 years now and find it works well for me.

I started off on 100 mg which wasn't high enough but when I went to 150 mg it worked much better. I guess it took around 2 weeks to take effect.

Be guided by your doctor.

Hi thank you for taking the time to get back to me. Really glad that the 150mg works for you. I’ve been on Sertraline for as many years as you if not a bit more. During which time I have altered my dose a few times lowering it then feeling bad again so upping it again each time I did it as gradually as I could. Three years ago I was particularly bad as my medication was changed + I started taking HRT. Neither one of these suited me and I went downhill rapidly. I was then put back on my Sertraline and gradually got up to 200mg. Over the last year I gradually decreased until I was on 50mg a day since February this year. Then in May I realised that my anxiety/depression had been creeping back up and then wham I was in a bad place again. Hence gradually upping dose. So it’s been three weeks now on 100mg. Maybe I’m thinking give it another week and if still not much improvement gradually up them again to 150mg. Sorry for rambling and thank you again. 😌

You are welcome. I haven't messed with mine as much as once I got to a level they helped I stayed put.

It was recommended to increase it to 200 mgs but I haven't. If something ain't broke it doesn't need fixing.

Hi all, I have just been prescribed 100mg of setraline as the 45 mg of Mirtazapine was not working anymore, I’m always terrified of starting new meds, but have been going down hill so fastly that I have to try something else. I have to decrease my Mirtazapine to 15mg & start the 100mg of setraline & hopefully it will improve my situation. Anyone got any thought on the matter would b appreciated xx
