I have been on zoloft for about ten months, it tool a long time to kick in...my generalized anxiety has improved a great deal, but social anxiety not as much? The melancholy that I feel, especially upon waking in the morning, is still quite strong, and takes me back to a darker time, scary. Has anyone experienced this type of experience while on sertraline? If it could only work for depression like it has anxiety (certain anxieties), it would be the ideal ssri...

Hey Hollick, I am the same way!!! Zoloft never really helped with my social anxiety much but it has stopped some of my anxious thoughts but not all of them. Talk to your psychiatrist i’m sure they could add another medicine to it? that’s what mine did and it helped but not 100% more like 80% but better than nothing
yeah, abilify has worked for a few I know..did it cause weight gain for yourself? the sertraline did for me, but I don't care about that like I used to, so I guess its worked in more ways than one, if ya know what I mean?
thanks for your reply Hope..was on Effexor years ago, like you say, worked really well at treating both conditions..later, I tried it again, it did not have the same effect? Sertraline is good, I mean as far as my anxiety, it kicked ass, but social anxiety, not as much as I would have liked, and again, the depression, same deal.
