If the news upsets you switch it off and walk away and do something nice for yourself like going for a walk.

How are you and Pixie getting on?

I am fine here and enjoyed a delicious lie in this morning as my interview isn't until 3pm so I thought why not treat myself whilst the opportunity is here and that I did and feel loads better for it as well!

I'm not swimming today as I have been both yesterday and Monday and I am going tomorrow afternoon as usual so it's not like I am missing out on anything by not going there today!

Thats good advice is that!

It was better in the old days when the news was only on a few times a day wasn't it?

Yes and it was usually true. Not twisted and distorted like nowadays.

That's the thing with these stories on the news there's always something else added to them!

There was the fuss back in March about the no salad items in the supermarkets and they had made up a story of no white turnips in the supermarket claiming the government minister had told everyone to eat turnips!

Tesco had stopped selling white turnips altogether a while ago so it was lies about no white turnips in the supermarket!

In the greengrocer shops and the ethnic shops there were plenty of white turnips there and I find the veg from the greengrocers shops taste better than the ones from the supermarket!

What the government minister had meant was stick to veg that's in season and save the salads for the summer which the papers claimed was the minister telling people to eat white turnips and then claiming there were none in stock in the supermarkets and that was because Tesco had stopped stocking them ages ago!

Most news is used for manipulation and fear, to control the people. Dig deeper and it gets more sinister.

They never report nice things on the news do they?

We are taking our time with sorting out our new place as we got a sofa and a bed first and a clothes rail that was cheap as well that were urgent.

Next thing to sort in due course is a washing machine and a dining table and chairs but they can wait a bit.

I would have been annoyed as well if it was us not being able to get into a new place due to the slow solicitors and completion.

Thankfully this place was already vacant when we moved in so the Sunday after we had signed the lease that previous Friday afternoon which was a short notice appointment but a rare one that was important and couldn't wait so I did that no problem but in the pub across the road from the leasing office they were rude to us and we put it down to experience not to go to that pub again should be be in that area again!

With those short notice appointments what I found out is that no its not the request in itself that upsets me its how its done that does when it's put across in a rude and entitled manner!

Thing is you ask in a polite way you don't order and then it's up to me to say yes or no for myself!

When I was packing what I would do when it got too much was stop and walk away for 5 minutes and come back when I had calmed down!

Monday night I got spoken to in a rude manner and fobbed off by my mother saying how she didn't have wi fi and was busy with packing so didn't have time to talk to me!

What I did was laugh and walked away thinking how its not my issue when people are rude to me it's theirs and how that was rubbish about hiding behind the wi fi the real reason was she didn't want to talk to me because I might bring up topics and say things she didn't want to hear so hid behind the wi fi as an excuse!

Thing is if you are so aggrieved all for the fact someone has dared to contact you and they haven't booked an appointment to do so don't answer the phone or e mail and I would have just got on with the rest of the day and perhaps tried later if the matter was urgent.

She does claim however that she will be in contact over the weekend and I thought ok then I will look forward to it and let the matter drop but that's not nice as it feels like having an office door slammed shut in your face when that happens!

Like I say if you feel so aggrieved all because someone has dared to contact you just don't answer at all then no one is offended and will just assume you couldn't get to the phone at that time as the world doesn't revolve around the phone!

I admit there's been times we have sat down to dinner and the phone has rung and I have felt aggrieved but what I do is ignore it as I feel if a matter really is urgent and important they will ring back later on rather than answer in a rude manner and they feel offended when they are told we are busy ring back later in a rude tone feeling like an office door has been slammed shut in their face!

Last Saturday afternoon I had come back from swimming and had received an extremely rude phone call from b and q demanding I have an interview with them so I asked them could I come back to them with that one as I wasn't being shoved around in my own home!

I got myself a cup of tea and had a think about it and rang them back and told them no no thank you to their interview and they got nasty which confirmed to me I had made the right choice in telling them no to their interview!

Saturday morning Tescos had sent me an e mail asking me would I like an interview with then that I am going to later on and I didn't mind that as it was polite so I chose today at 3pm that was available.

If b and q had been polite and had asked in a polite manner I wouldn't have minded that and my reaction would have been completely different and perhaps I would have gone to the interview with them this coming Friday but demanding an interview on the phone isn't a good start in my view!
