Removing clutter and memories

It seems sacrilege to throw so much away, but charity shops dont accept kitchen electricals & i dont have time to run around, although i expect most of it is no good anyway after many years festering in cupboards, and they belonged to Davids Mother and she's been gone many years.

I will only keep my as new Pro Kenwood Mixer and my hand mixer, but even then i doubt i will ever use the big mixer, it was certainly good when we entertained a lot, and when i made Victoria Sponges to sell, but i wont be doing that again.

I have enough China to open a cafe and a beautiful Bone China dinner service which David sent back from Singapore which i am reluctant to sell, but who knows?

As an Antique dealer said to me, its like you live in a museum.🤪 some things are of value and some things are memorabilia, and hard as it is we cant keep it all.

I’m in the same boat. Too much stuff. Sometimes I would like to put up a sign outside that says, “Free Stuff.” And just open the door for whoever wants to help me declutter.

Do you have family who would like and appreciate some of the memories? Can you put some of it up for sale on a marketplace website?

These are some of the things we’re doing. Sometimes it works.

My sister and I love collectibles. Retro is my favorite although I don’t buy much cuz I don’t like clutter. My sister sells the collectibles she buys on line and mails them. We’d love to roam through your house. Yes, it difficult to decide what to let go, but please keep some of that beautiful China. Your entertaining days aren’t over.

I did a clean sweep of my house a couple years back. I got rid of everything I had stored but never used.

I'm going to sweep again soon. Time to get rid of a few more things

Hang some of it on your walls. Great conversation starters. 😁

I don't like to hang stuff on my walls.

Few years time to sell and move to the ocean. Don't want to fill all those holes

Maybe get on one of those tv programmes that come and sort all your stuff out for you?

Save what means alot to you. But use those things. My grandfather "Pop" always told me things are worth more when they're used and cherished. If you need to get rid of sentimental things I saw a wonderful idea on television. Take a photo of them and create a special photo album with those photos. You could even add a handwritten note of why they are special to you. I am lucky there is a thrift store near me that accepts small appliances that work. But many people don't have that option. I am trying to unclutter my home too soo I understand your frustration about throwing things away. Good luck.
