I can definitely tell when I don’t take it on time/forget a day. My brain jumps around more and I do feel physically jittery at times. It took while to build up in my system (it is just that type of drug), but really helps me.

Lexapro made me tired if I didn’t have something to do. Like go back to bed tired after being up for an hour after taking it.

Hi Mark, I've been on Lexapro for a while now after having been weaned off

many years on benzos. I took it with an open mind. Was told to take it at

lunchtime with food. Started at 10mg went up to 15mg. It was the beginning

of my feeling amazing. Clear headed was the biggest thing after years on benzos

that made me lethargic and spacy headed.

I've been very pleased with this medication. Wishing you well with it. :) xx

I am happy to hear that. I feel I will be in long term, nice to find out someone is having positive results. Please let me know if something changes.

I will Mark but I don't anticipate any issues.

I do use Meditation and Breathing exercises each and every day.

First thing in the morning, mid-afternoon and before bed. It keeps me

in a relaxed state of mind and body. Anytime you may have any questions

I'm more than happy to support you. Good Luck :) xx

I loved it. Worked great for me. I’m not sure why I stopped it (was young and irresponsible). I went from Viibryd to Zoloft. Lexapro was great though. Stick with it.

Agreed! Prozac was great. Took awhile to adjust. I felt speedy on it though. Lost some weight and grinding of the teeth a lot. But it helped. That was the first med I tried and it saved my life.

It has been a couple of months for me. It was a life saver. I had very intense anxiety that 10 mg didn't even work for me. I maxed out with 20 mg and it was a game changer. I had people tell me that I was on top of stuff. I'm in grad school and a teacher was shocked by how much I was improving. It suppressed my emotions which allowed me to think again. I passed all my competencies, started a media page, etc. It's been amazing for me.

Hi Mark. I have been taking Lexapro for about two years now. I initially did feel that way when taking it, and switch to taking it at night and it worked wonders. I actually went from the 10mg to the 20mg without any issues. I will use breathing techniques, meditation, and tapping during the day. Resetting the nervous system is a major key to feeling better as well. If you’ve never heard of tapping, check out the Tapping Solution app. Quick easy exercises on there thay can also help with any depression/anxiety and many other things as well. I highly recommend it!

I was on lexapro (escitalopram) for about 5 years before I stopped due to the pandemic and miscommunication with the place that I got for my psychiatry. It seemed to have worked alright.

However, when I went back on it about a year later (2021), I had a lot of side effects that I never remember getting the first time around. So I stopped it after two days. However, that honestly isn't enough time to actually have the medicine to start working.

I was going to start Cymbalta, but found out that it could cause eye pressure, and I already suffer from Glaucoma. So, I'm going back on escitalopram and this time I'm going to suffer through the side effects.

Wishing you all the best.

I started Lexapro at the end of September. No side effects that I recall and within a month my anxiety attacks had stopped. I have been on several other meds - Zoloft, Wellbutrin to name a few. I definitely did not feel like myself on those meds. This makes me feel almost like the old me.

Hey, Mark. I took it from 2007 to 2018. Never real side effects from that one. Hope that helps. Good for you taking care of yourself.

Hi Mark,

I have been taking Lexapro for many years - at least 15. It has worked really well for me. I started at 10 mg and now take 20. I don’t have any side effects with it and it helps keep my anxiety at bay. I rarely have a panic attack and it also helps keep my unreasonable anxious away.

My 24 year old son has been taking Lexapro for several years now. He has social anxiety and depression. He takes 20 mg. It helped alot with his panic atacks, but he needs to see a therapist on a regular basis which he refuses at this time.

Hello! I have been on Lexapro for about two months now. I started with 10mg and have been doing quite well. My provider increased my dosage to 20mg as of today because I was still experiencing some heightened moments of anxiety each day that I didn't experience on my previous medication (citalopram). I have not had any side effects, truly, maybe loss of appetite in the first week or so. But I'm seeing a positive results and hopeful that it will continue to feel even better after this dosage increase.

Hi Mark,

I have been on Lexapro for over 25 years, and it was simply a game changer for me. I too started on the lowest dose of 10 mg and after 20 years I had to up my dosage to 20 mg 1 x daily. I could feel it started to not work and when I spoke with my doctor, he aggreged and once the correct does was given I felt better.

Like a few other I to can tell if I've forgotten to take it. Within a few hours I get a euphoria of being at sea, and I can quite literally and physically feel waves.

As recently as last year, although I felt good physically and mostly mentally, I felt like I needed a boost and I inquired at my annual physical and my doctor didn't want to increase my Lexapro but instead added Wellbutrin and it was the boost I needed.

I remeber what it was like before I began taking it and quite honestly, I don't ever want to go back there.

It wasn't for me. Made me feel more anxious. I'm a Zoloft gal. But I hope it helps you! However, if the side effects are outweighing benefits, then consider tapering off and trying something else. I wish you good luck!

I just want to say thanks to everyone further remarks. Being able to hear many peoples experience really helps me. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Reach out to me anytime personally if you would like to share anything.
