last night I was able to go to the comedy show with boyfriend. I had a great time and was able to eat out and not feel anxious about throwing up. This morning I’m feeling anxious. I have a lot of work to do. Yesterday I got bone done because during the day I napped on and off (probably not the best idea but I felt tired). I’m also starting to think about my fear of getting the stomach bug. How do you move past these intrusive thoughts?

hi! When I was first struggling with anxiety I used to throw up every morning before school. That was about 10 years ago. I threw up once or twice in college from drinking too much, but it’s been about 5-6 years since I’ve thrown up. I don’t think I’ve had the stomach bug since I was a kid, and I am so fearful of getting it. My fear is I’ll throw up and not be able to stop
I have a friend who told me that she was vomiting because of stress when she was on her course for driving license. It stopped when she changed her teacher (he was tough on her). It seems for me that you had some hard time while at school and the vomiting stopped after you changed your environment. I think you can assume you won't vomit again unless you are going back to school

So you are afraid of getting ill, right? But such illness doesn't typically last long. As you are generally healthy (you are, because you didn't vomit for a few years), it would probably go away in a few days if it happened
You went out, ate and enjoyed yourself, remember that is part of you also, no one is all anxiety or worry. Build on those positive experiences and keep going forward
