withdrawals from medication

hi all, I’m just wondering if anyone has had withdrawal symptoms from stopping burphernorpine. I decided to stop taking this medication as it was prescribed to me about 3 years ago for severe pain and I’m no longer in that pain so stopped taking them but now I’ve had diahorrea, muscle aches and insomnia. Any input would be greatly received

hi, I am going to speak to my GP, I naively thought I could just stop them, but my withdrawals were so very bad, so I’ve start the medication again and will sort it out. Take care

suboxone is an extremely powerful opioid partial agonist - please consult with med. professional. I am guilty also of stopping medications in the past; however, with suboxone the withdrawals can be very very difficult. You don't deserve any more discomfort. Take care!!

thank you for your reply, I have started taking the medication again as I couldn’t cope with the withdrawal symptoms, I’m going to speak to my GP and discuss with him the benefits of coming off them as I’ve been on them so long and was very naïve to think I could just stop them. I've made the mistake in the past of just quitting a medication and found it is not a good idea. It's a lot better for your mind and body to taper off slowly, even slower than what the doctor recommends usually so your mind and body can adjust to it.
