I feel so silly for some of the stuff I post. But this is a great outlet for me. Thank you to all who read. I am a teacher and the past few days I’ve had a sore stomach. I know it could be from anxiety and It’s also my time of the month. I’ve been eating normal and don’t really feel nauseous but since my stomach is sore it causes some anxiety about throwing up which is one of my biggest fears. I’m under a lot of stress with my job and also my classes for my masters degree. Today we had a staff meeting and I sat next to someone who ended up leaving early because her stomach felt upset. Thag triggered me and now I’m freaking out about getting sick from her. I know this all sounds pathetic and ridiculous

stomachs can be sore in a lot of different way. It could be a sharp pain. A dull pain like a clenching pain. A muscle pain like I'm pretty sure I am gonna feel tomorrow from my exercise class. Muscle pain could also be a pulled muscle. Then there is sick nauseous pain. I'm sure I haven't hit all of it. Do you feel it in the upper part or lower part?
it’s more of a dull pain in the lower part or middle area thag comes and goes.
Well it could be unrelated but it kind of sounds like stress or your cycle although I knew when it was cycle related... that had a distinct feel. If you do something to calm yourself down does it subside? Or can you keep a journal of when it subsides/gets worse and how you feel?
it seems to subside when I am busy and distracted. I think I am just under a lot of stress. It caught me off guard though because usually my anxiety feels more like I’m nauseous. But maybe since this is not prolonged stress it is presented itself as a stomach ache instead. I wasn’t sure if anyone had experience with have stomach aches due to anxiety rather than nausea
maybe. Your cycle sim is muscular too so being distracted can ease that too. You aren’t as focused and your muscles relax. Have you looked up yoga exercises for your cycle?
sometimes the minds imagination is strong sometimes you over thinking can make start feeling like u are sick but your not...ive an article that this woman wanted to b pregnant so.so bad that she started to have lets say symptoms of her being pregnant to the point where even her tummy grew like a pregnant womans would well one day she thought she was going into labor well doctors checked for everything right well here to find out she wasnt pregnant it was all due from something in the mind that triggered some hormone that made her body change like that..pretty crazy right
Absolutely, tummy pain can come from anxiety. I have the most anxious tummy. I won't eat for days because I feel queasy and it hurts, like an ache. I've been scoped out to no avail, just a nervous tummy. I eat a lot of saltine crackers and I live on ginger ale and ginger tea. I'm drinking some as I type this lol. I have pt tomorrow, and I'm nervous about that, so I can't eat dinner. Today I had a day of terrible errands to run on tight time deadlines, so my stomach was in painful knots all day. If I'm ever around someone else w tummy problems, BOOM, I've got 'em, even if it's just psychosomatic. I also like those greek yogurt drinks, they seem to soothe my tummy while giving me a few calories and some protein, especially when I'm super-nauseous, fyi....and I have a prescription for Zofran. It's amazing, it takes the nausea right away. You may wanna ask your doc for some if this keeps happening, it's a miracle pill. There's a few things that actually help 😊...
It doesn’t sound crazy at all! I too work in a school and there’s so many nasty things going around just now! I still wear my mask to help alleviate a lot of my anxiety around infection! If there’s anything you’re worried about you’re quite right to post it up! It’ll hopefully give you some good and helpful support. You’re definitely not alone my darling. I hope your tummy feels a bit better soon. Big hugs and love 🙏🏻🍀❤️😘xx
thank you so much ❤️
You certainly don’t sound pathetic or ridiculous. Stress can do a number on our bodies ! It can cause the symptoms you describe. I have many GI issues due to stress. I would speak to your PCP to see if they can give you something to help settle your stomach. I take zofran for my nausea and it works fast and very well.
My dear you are not alone in your fear of vomiting!
It’s called emetophobia and is quite common, but we hardly talk about it!
I’ve suffered for as long as i can remember.
I’ve had counselling but with not much success….I really feel for you.x
I'm glad you came here to share. None of this sounds pathetic or ridiculous. You are dealing with a lot!
Praying for peace and harmony in your work environment. I hope you are feeling calmer today. 🙏💗
Hey, do not feel silly for anything. We are all in the same boat here. We need to vent and let out these stories that we write in our heads.
So keep them coming if writing them makes you feel better too😄
