It's "just" a stress response. It can't hurt you. It WILL pass. Try as best you can not to fear what might come (anxiety is fear of the future, after all). Find some nice distractions when anxiety sets in, keep repeating to yourself that you'll be okay. I often play with water in the bathroom sink and do deep breathing exercises.

do you find that having a job or something like that is good for anxiety as well?

I suppose it depends on the job. I think exercise and being active in various hobbies can be a lot of help.

Maybe you've found a medication that works well for you! No matter how many attacks you've had or may have in the future try to remember that they're lying to you. They are an illusion. I realize the fear and physical sensations can be intense, but no one's ever died or gone insane from panic attacks. They can be managed, even defeated

that makes me happy to hear too, i know there’s way of coping with it and understanding it more but i’ve had it for years and still have yet to find out

Breathing exercises will become your friend if you practice them. Just like you have to build up strength in your body w workouts, you need to do the same thing w your mind. So practicing a breathing technique 3-4 times a day will allow you to call on it when panic sets in. There's lots of them on YouTube. You gotta breathe into your belly, letting it fill up and get big. I like the 4 square technique. You breathe in for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4, breathe out for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4, repeat until better. I tap it out on my hand for further grounding in the moment. Meditation also helps. I like the Insight timer app. It has 1000's of free meditations that you can search based on the mood you're in. Both of these things can help you deal w upcoming panic events. Hope this helps.

Welcome lovergirl_18 to a caring and safe support forum.

Don't allow anxiety to trick you into "anticipational anxiety" that is

waiting for the next attack that may never come. It's a mind game that

anxiety plays with us.

Instead of worrying about the "what ifs", use your power in working on

your subconscious mind by listening to Meditation and doing breathing

exercises before bed. YouTube has always been my "go to". Find a video

to listen to before sleep. If you should fall asleep before it ends, know that

your subconscious mind will be absorbing every word. Within a month's

time, you will no longer fear the next attack. Stay ahead of your fears. :) xx

I have been dealing with panic attacks since 2018.. I have this bad heart anxiety.. I was doing good for some time, but had my last panic attack 2 days ago almost in a year... These panic attacks are hard to get over... But I do have many techniques that u can implement to help yourself manage your anxiety.. I used to have a couple of panic attacks a day at the peak of my hypochondria.. I'm not completely out of this mess, but I have come a long way..

Trust me today I'm feeling like dying, but I'm not running to the hospital with my tail in my legs.. Do You have any idea where your panic attacks come from.. Knowing the source of your anxiety helps a great deal in your road to recovery..

Truly no, i don’t exactly know. I’ve had anxiety for a while now but never this bad.. it started when my parents got divorced but as i grew up it got worse and rn the way they come on now is very random, i could just be laying in my bed (how it happened the first time) and they just start..
