How do you manage opposing wants/needs?

I am just thrashing around from "I need all the help!" to "Leave me the hell alone!". I attempted suicide twice in the last 2 months and the number of cooks in my kitchen is driving me crazy. I get it. I'm "that guy" now and "that guy" needs to be watched, but I hate this. I'm a very independent and capable person. I don't like supervision. I don't deal well with help. The pressure of everyone trying to help is making me feel so invalidated. And so my brain goes from one extreme to the other all day. The duality is very difficult to deal with. Sometimes I even feel kind of normal for an hour at a time. It's honestly maddening. So I need to decide what I want to do going forward. I'm making up a list of what I want/what I don't in an attempt to feel more rational. My thoughts are not doing a good job of being rational, though. This is so confusing and tiring. I want to stop the thrashing. How do you manage opposing wants/needs?

I deal with opposing wants/needs with great frustration and the occasional quiet time to reflect on what's most important to me. I would think that telling people (in a forward but diplomatic way) that sometimes you need a little more space than what you're getting would be helpful, so you don't feel overwhelmed. Setting boundaries can be a really healthy thing, especially if you manage to do it with a sense of politeness.

I love your username, great song 😁

Good idea you have to write it down.. I'll sometimes write a pros and cons list. I have a lot of conflicting wants too. Probably a lot of people do. I'm glad you have people that are concerned about you. I know you understand why they would be.. could you explain to them what you said here and hope they'll understand.

I know what you mean! I am so drained because you are so right! It IS maddening and it takes a HECK of a lot of energy. I'm getting better at going into immediate self-soothe mode when I feel this extreme duality. Have you tried tapping as a help? I recently got into this and it helps. I use an app called "The Tapping Solution" I also listen to 432hz music to help calm me. Writing still helps (when I have the energy). I do a coloring app as well, which I enjoy.I'm not sure if this is the kind of response you were hoping for, but I thought I'd comment anyway.

I appreciate any and all responses. I have not tried any of those things, but I will consider them. I have explored binaural beats and certain sound frequencies for hypnosis, which is a hobby interest of mine. I think it's worth looking into.
