strange occurrance

Today I woke up feeling a little tired. Went to the washroom picked up my right hand to wipe and it was completely numb. I shook it and it was falling all over the place. I got up and collapsed nothing was working. I shouted for my husband to call 911. They came and assessed me for a stroke. Ruled that out. I eventually went to the hospital where blood and ct scan were run. Everything came back normal but I’m still feeling numbness in my arm.

Unsurprisingly, my anxiety is through the roof. I don’t like not knowing what’s going on with my body. This was a very frightening event and I’m not sure how to pivot from here. I haven’t felt particularly stressed and the only thing out of the ordinary was that I had a couple dental fillings recently on the the right side of my mouth. I wondering if that could be related.

I just want to feel like myself. I’m feeling anxious and restless.. I’m scared to nap. Even though I know this may be irrational . I intend on meeting with my GP tomorrow God willing. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? What next steps would you take? What natural “remedies” do you use when dealing with anxiety?

That sounds so scary! I had a friend who once had similar symptoms and it was Bell’s Pallsy. Luckily hers went away over time.

I really hope your doctors can get to the bottom of this asap for you!

Bell's Palsy is partial paralysis on one side of the face with facial drooping. It's related to the trigeminal nerve in the face. Doesn't include the arm.

That is so terrifying and I don’t blame you one bit for feeling heightened anxiety over the situation. It’s always awful when you don’t really know what’s going on, that always increases my anxiety anyway. Hoping you get some answers from your GP tomorrow and that it was an isolated incident. Take good care

Thank you

I got up & collapsed before (within 30 secs), on Thanksgiving day 2011. I went to the ER & They couldn't find anything wrong. All my tests were normal, but I've had lots of weird medical conditions. They settled on hypokalemia (low potassium), so they gave me supplements for several years. I've had panic attacks & health anxiety since. I always felt like i was dizzy after that, at just random times, but after a while i realized it was all anxiety. After about 5 years, i was back to normal (no more dizziness, or panic about what happened). Ur hand being numb could be that u slept wrong, I've had that happen many times. Hope u get comforting news from the doctor. Best of luck, take care.

Thank you for sharing this. Anxiety is a terrible debilitating disease. I’ve been up on and off all night. I’m experiencing numbness all over my body but I’ve also been questioning if what I’m feeling at this point is just a manifestation of anxiety. I just want to feel healthy and I wish the same for everyone suffering with these diseases. Love and light

I agree, it's horrible. I'm so sorry u are feeling this way. We never know if it's something serious or if our minds are playing tricks in us. In my case, it's my mind playing tricks every time, but u also don't want to ignore serious symptoms, so it's a hard thing to balance. It could be nerve issues, spinal issues affecting the nerves, or simply anxiety. I did a search online, but i don't recommend u do that while having anxiety, so I'll post the results. Hopefully this can comfort u a little:

Could be a pinched nerve, possibly related to your neck. I had a stroke workup last month, was overnight in the hospital. Half my face and my left arm felt tingly. Luckily all testing came back negative. I do have arthritis in my neck and found out that's the cause.
