Freakin pisses me off to no end how people think that because I have struggles with mental health SOMEHOW that must mean I'm a complete idiot. Well, I almost got trapped today by an advertisement to see if I would be a "Ketamine Candidate". I'm actually angry at myself because, although I'm certainly no genius, I consider myself a street-smart person. But this damn advert was worded perfectly in order to make people believe that we're signing up for a trial. I made sure to read as carefully as possible but these marketers are brilliant when it comes to word manipulation. Anyway, took me about 10 minutes to answer all kinds of mental health questions but towards the end it was obvious that this was no trial but in fact a sales come-on from a Ketamine clinic in the city. Luckily I got suspicious as soon as the personal financial questions began, I ended it immediately. I Googled them and they're actually a legit clinic so it's not clear why they decided to advertise in this manner but clearly someone hired the wrong marketing company. It's a reminder that there is still a strong belief that folks with mental health disorders are fools and/or desperate for help so we're easily conned. Man, completely disappointed in myself for having my blinders on for this one. I'm definitely desperate for help, but I'm no fool

How I almost got trapped by a mental health exploit
I hear you. You’ve really got to be careful, there are some sophisticated salespeople and scams out there that are designed to be misleading and not tell you everything. I’m not sure about this whole craze about ketamine going on. I don’t believe that treatment is covered by any insurance at all unless maybe you have high quality health insurance. I have Medicare and Medicaid, I know it’s most likely not covered, it’s some kind of experimental treatment. And I knew someone who was having it done and she claimed it helped her, well guess what? Eventually the treatments just became too costly and then the way our sickening mental health system is, she started to do shock therapy because she didn’t know what else to do. I do NOT believe in shock therapy, and there are some doctors who flat out won’t do it. You might want to forget the ketamine idea or at least do some research about it.
Yeah, I thought it was a trial study but they were asking for a fee which is why I cought on to the hook. I've done tons of research on it and normally in my area it's about $2000.00 per session, usually 3 to 6 sessions. Insurance won't cover a penny. A neighbor's wife went through it and she swore by it but it left them flat broke
I wonder why no insurance will cover it. It’s very strange.
Im on Medicare and they won't even consider
