I like to do my nails sometimes. And take the time to soak in a nice bubble bath. Sometimes when I’m in the shower I imagine I’m standing underneath a waterfall. I just zone out and take a break from reality!!!
Was feeling a lot of anxiety today so I put on my Art playlist (think ambient electronica) and puttered around with my rocks and crystals. I moved and re-did my display. It was super relaxing!
shaved/trimmed my face last night which was nice pushed through the anxiety when doing it. Also went for a walk today rode stationary bike and ate food.
I take long warm showers at night to help calm and ease my mind. takes time away from every thing around and relax. i like to just stand under the water and let the warmth hit me. i also do box breathing when i feel anxiety coming on or having an attack, although it's hard at times. how I know its coming on is i start to get burning feeling in my skin, then i start box breathing and it seems to help me
Thanks Ashley, I like box breathing as well, although I do a lot of 5-7-8 as it tends to slow my breathing down better, also I think I read somewhere that the exhale should be longer than the inhale? Oh and when I do the 5-7-8 one I hold my breath for 4seconds before proceeding to the next one and also at the very end…
Switching my phone off for a couple of hours as I am old school and feel if a matter is important they will call back later on as i cant always be glued to a phone 24/7 and help out all the time!
Gosh, that’s a good one, looking at the mirror and saying positive affirmations I mean. Only problem is I don’t like looking in the mirror lol but will give it a go!
I love your list. As you know there are so many things we like to do that are similar
Meditation, foot soak, facial, cuddle a pet ( even though he's spikey and 💩 on me )
Music, exercise, sitting in silence. Listening to nature with a cup of coffee.... birds, rain, wind, taking time to listen to the sound of my wind chimes.
My whole life I " had no time" that can do so much damage.
🐬!!! 😆 at your spikey friend doing business on ya! 🦔 Silly guy! I think I’ll do a combo today of foot lotion meditation and facial at the same time. Hope you are enjoying your day ❤️ ⭐️
I like to keep my nails nice and I discovered gel nail polish. Girls! You gotta try it. Guys, too…whoever…. And I’m getting tired of looking at the grey hairs that frame my face when I pull it back. It’s too hard to hide and I’m thinking of tinting it. I’ve got new glasses so the rest of me needs to match. New glasses, new me.
The surfers are gathering in numbers on the beach and waiting for heads up that no swimmers are allowed in the water. That’s when they’ll swarm in and sit on their boards anticipating the Big One to come along. Big One meaning a wave that will crest more than two feet. Five feet is a challenge. Oh, yeah…our surfers are big kahunas…..🏄♂️😉
here.my plan for today for self care was quiting my job, ringing the doctors, mositurising my face (as i have neglected myself) go for a walk , rest , cook some food as i love cooking and find it therapeutic ...snuggle my husband later ...yeah maybe throw in my favorite songs and eat properly
I got fired from my job a couple of weeks ago and at present i am working my 4 weeks notice and my last day will be 14 October and I will leave there with my head held high!
I like to take walks, especially on the beach, exercise, cook for myself and my son. Spend time with pet’s. Volunteer at local animal shelter , take an online writing course, spend time with my 80 year old mom. Watch professional football. Go to church, praying. Working part-time due to my dialysis schedule. Watch the animals in nature, care for many indoor plants. Light my favorite scented candles evergreen and pine ❤️
This is a wonderful post Starrlight and I love all the different replies. I love candles as well but my husband claims he is allergic to them and also has never liked me wearing perfume either….I have a lovely selection of candles on the hearth and the only time they get lit is when someone close dies, I made that last over a whole week when the Queen died, it’s so touching the way so many people felt close to Her Majesty - she was great at uniting people and bringing them together - look at what she did for N.Ireland. I think I would add photos to my list but only when I am in the right mood as they can sometimes make me feel sad. And reading over and over again beautiful hand-written letters (I never throw them out, they are so special and I hear the person speaking clearly when I read their letters). I have some going back to the Sixties and yes I should have a clearout but can’t bring myself to doing it…
I still appreciate when someone takes the time to mail me a card or letter. Sending emails or getting notifications on Facebook just is NOT the same!!!! The post office will appreciate this too. Computer technology just makes people lazy in some ways.
Today I have enjoyed a day out in the city centre with my sister in law to take my mind off getting evicted and fired from my job a couple of weeks ago.
Those are things I cant change but what I can do is have a good attitude towards them as theres no point getting upset over things that are beyond your control but today nice things have happened though like having a nice lunch out which I enjoyed.
On my last day at the job in a few weeks time whats definite is i will leave the place with my head held high!
Good for you Catgirl, you’ve definitely got the right attitude. Got me thinking what Gerrerd said recently - something about every exit leading to a new entrance somewhere and I’m sure it’s true, you will find something else and it will be better.
I am afraid we lost him a year and a half ago - still miss him dreadfully but he was just irreplaceable…but our son is thinking of getting a dog soon so hoping we can dog-share, granny-sit etc!
ive been sleeping 11 or 12 hours a night, which is bad for me, so my ADHD coach helped me come up with a reason to get up. At 6 im gonna read and have breakfast, at 7 im gonna do yoga, and at 8 im gonna walk my wife and daughter to the train or for days when I have to go in get ready for work myself.
I didn't even do it one day. I'm still used to getting up much later -- it might be the depakote just makes me really groggy for 9 or 10 hours. But, I did get up around 7:40 and I got in a shave, which is a level of self-care I'm not used to. So it's a start.
