This is not a religiously based site. There are some guidelines about religion in the admin pages. Similar to politics. You can talk about how it affects you but you won't get a lot of sympathy if you tell people they will get better if only the follow [insert diety].
I can't tell you if it is okay to not go to church anymore than you can tell me if I should go to yoga. Only you can answer that.
Hi. It is ok if you don't physically go to church. It doesn't affect your Faith, or how God sees you. Rest easy. You can "attend" many churches on-line. Most started that due to COVID, and have kept it going. There are many disabled people, and nursing home people, who cannot move about well and physically attend a church service, but they, too, are still Loved. Please feel at peace if you can't go to a service in person.💜🙇♀️
I am not religious. But, I thought you could worship God from anywhere. Some people are debilitated and can't get to church yet they have a strong faith. I would hope there would be no punishment for not being able to get to a church
Your relationship with God is personal. Going to buildings designated as churches plays a small part in that relationship. What really matters is the devotion you show on your own. You build that relationship by talking to Him. Set aside part of your day every day.
Humans are social creatures and churches are a place to gather in combined worship but they are not as critical to forming that one on one relationship. You can learn a lot by interacting with others of the same faith, but a church does not have to be physical. In this day and age there are alternative places to gather such as social media. You can join groups online that offer as much or even more than a physical building can.
If you are devout, you should pray for the answer.
Hi my sister in Christ!!! I know how you are feeling. I am struggling with my anxiety and going to church. I am responding to your post instead of getting ready for corporate fellowship. I do know God will give us comfort!!!
I am Christian and don't go to church-I'm lazy on Sunday. I do mission work and volunteer and walk with a group of ladies from church and try to be a good person. I have 2 different churches that I like but I just don't feel the need to go-I talk to God everyday by myself.
I agree going to a place to pray doesn't make you religious, but this site really isn't the place for religious discussion. It's in the terms as many can be offended and many arguments have been caused by the topic, just as politics.
Do you think that those here who were abused in the name of Christianity might be triggered with anxiety as they have to relive the abuse every time someone here sings the praises.... stop preaching, stop.
If you create your own post, you are free to discuss any topic you like and those that are not interested are free to have no involvement in it. What should be explained about the dangers of religious conversations is that there are many belief systems and everyone is going to preach for their side which can create tension and hostility .. I am sure you have heard of many conflicts being a direct result of denomination.
I do not mean to imply that you are here causing strife, I only want to emphasize the risk of how hostile the discussion has the potential of becoming. By offering holy advice on other members posts who does not share your belief system you may inadvertently trigger them. You should understand that is a very unwelcome action on a site where many people are on edge or defensive.
Don't worry.... some people get "triggered" by too many things for us to predict or foresee. I know someone whose anxiety got "triggered" because they broke a shoelace. Keep the Faith!💜🙇♀️
Being sexually abused or physically abused in the name of a Christian faith isn't the same as a broken shoe lace. Being brainwashed in a cult and married at 12 and raped by your religious Christian leader isn't the same as a broken shoe lace. Your comment is trivializing the reality of religious abuse in the name of Christianity. There are more faiths here that are also offended when Christianity is placed above all other beliefs and faiths here.
I don't have a problem with people posting about religion but what I do have is a problem with people who prosthelytize and i know this a generality, but religious people tend to quickly veer in that direction and that I find harmful for myself and potentially others.
I don't think there is a problem with the question you asked and my answer and personal belief is that worshipping Jesus has really nothing to do with being in a church. Jesus spoke and taught to groups out in the field and not in a church. In fact, Jesus had a problem with churches and the money lenders and probably didn't go to a church himself.
