stressed out over school tonight

so I was trying to get my son into a virtual public school. I just got a written status report saying he is not eligible. All I can think of is that they find us to make too much money so if I need to pay for a virtual private school which is fine I just want him in a good school. My biggest fear is that he’d have to go back to in person where he doesn’t do well in. My other son I am planning on homeschooling and I don’t know how mothers teach two kids at different levels at home. Plus i don’t really trust I’d do a good enough job. My older son I think will be pretty independent with his high school education but im not a 5th grade teacher I’m just writing this out because it helps me sort out my thoughts. I just want peace. You know? Why does everyone around me seem fine? Well now im listening to Bob Marley three little birds singing everything is gonna be alright.

I love Bob Marley, good choice.

Correct, you are not a teacher and I'm sure the anxiety is building. Are there any groups you can join to get tips from other parents who home school?

Do the books walk you through what to do? I have no experience in this. All I can offer is my love and support

❤️🐬

I don’t know. I can’t even think to answer properly. I’m in bad shape. I do have a plan though. I just have to implement it today.

Don't worry. Maybe taking it off your radar today would be a better idea?

Have an awesome reading time. I am so busy in my racing mind and with my kiddos I don’t actually know what to do to have fun.

Yeah I was thinking as soon as I’m up to it I’ll find him a school. Right now I’m in no shape to do anything.

I know in my area there is a community of homeschooling that teach the newcomers and are very supportive. They do field trips, have workshops using those moms or dads that specialize in science, art, sports, math, etc. My friend across the street was part of it and it was very helpful to all of the group. Most homeschools work like this now. It’s bigger than it once was.

Best wishes on this endeavor. Be well and at peace❤️😊🌷

Homeschool is definitely not what it was. Covid-19 had a lot of parents realize their kids actually thrived at home through virtual or homeschool. I would check to see if there is a virtual charter school in your area. Next, are there any other public schools that offer virtual/remote learning as an option? If not, there are many homeschool programs that have many different levels of how involved you need to be. Some the kids just watch prerecorded videos and do work, other attend live virtual classes. Homeschool can be what you want it to be.

If this is what is best for your kids, the. I know you will find a way to do it. Take a breath and realize you got this ♥️
