I used Lexpro for three years and thank God I improved a lot, but after I stopped using it gradually my weight increased about twenty pounds. Although I did not change my diet. My question is, did that happen to any of you? Please let me know because I can find another explanation

I don’t mean to be alarming, but, I gotta be up front. Lexapro & Me. MH Tech. Took me off Xanax to try Lexapro. I took it as prescribed & kept getting worse. She said to keep at it, I was just adjusting to it. Did for a bit, til I thought I was dying! Guess what? I was! Got to ER, MD was alarmed a bit. The Lexapro depleted my body of sodium! IVs ASAP, admitted, IVs thru the nite. Dr even called from home & told them to keep the IVs dripping. Saved Me! The End Thank You Everyone
yes, all SSRIs can cause dangerously low sodium. I did not know this until I had a similar experience while taking Paxil. I had been taking it for some time, but all of a sudden it caused a problem with low sodium. I too went to the emergency room and has an intravenous drip. After that I tried Duluxotine which did not cause a sodium problem, but also was not very helpful. The only one that does not affect sodium at all is Mirtazapine.
I don't mean to scare anyone, however, as this is not a very common problem.
Yeah Remeron was good to me. Thanks for your post.
