Feeling scared…

After two trips to the emergency room and several CT scans, a large (possibly 20lb) cyst has been found in my abdomen. I’ve been in and out of the hospital for the past week and a half with agonizing pain. I have an appointment with a group of specialists tomorrow to schedule a surgery to hopefully get this stupid thing removed. The whole process has made my anxiety go through the roof. I’m trying to stay strong, but would really appreciate chatting with someone to help with the constant feelings of dread and doom.

It's understandable that you are very upset. I was once waiting for surgery for removal of an ovarian cyst and I remember how upset and scared I was. I think the only thing you can do is try to have the surgery as soon as possible as this is the only way your anxiety may be lessened. Also, the pain you are in should be better. Let us know how your doctor appointment goes and when the surgery is scheduled. I care. xx

I appreciate this more than you know. I had a good discussion with the surgeons today. They have to do one more CT scan and get an ok from the anesthesiologist. Then I should get a date set in place for the surgery. I’m hoping sooner than later. Lol

I'm very glad to hear that; it sounds like they want to do the surgery as soon as possible too. xx

Your feelings are normal. You will have the surgery and be fine. Deep breathing exercises free on you tube. Cool and warm showers help too.

Wish you all the best, be thankful that they found what was wrong, i know that doesn't seem like much but at least you have a diagnosis and a plan of action. Reach out to family or friends for support and keep posting! Godspeed
