Have you talked to your GP, they can lead you down a treatment pathway, hopefully they will make you feel more at peace

Welcome

Hi Bob. Thanks for the welcome. Yes I've seen my g.p. Prescribed Propranal. My panic attacks start when I feel that I cannot swallow. Or get enough air in. I haven't eaten for a while. Just health shakes. Even taking my meds has become a chore for me. I see my g.p again on Fri.

Welcome! Being grateful for what you do have is a good start. Try to take action when it comes to your emotional health. Theres a lot of help out there. The work u put into yourself will come back to you in a positive way 100 times over.

This is a good place to be, really helped me. Everyone is in a similar boat and will give you good advice, or even just knowing you are not alone with your feelings/symptoms can be comforting.

I love your user name.. Is that a meat and potato pie! 😊

Seriously stay on here, take care and I wish you all the best x

Thank you for the sweet message. Being with people who understand your plight is definitely a great comfort. It is most definitely a meat & potato pie😁Although from our town we are known as the ‘Pie Eaters’ so any pie will do lol...I will definitely stay and wish you everything good in this world. Take care👍

Hi Andy, just saw your post, I am sorry you are feeling like this. Not sure how long you have had panic attacks and swallowing problems. I honestly do understand. I have had a problem with swallowing since I was about 10 and there have been times it's very severe. The worst I got was only being able to swallow liquid/soup etc. I won't bore you with all the things that make it worse/bring it on, but how I cope. If I feel like something is stuck or I am struggling to swallow I drink sips of milk because it's fatty, lubricates the throat and sends me the message that my throat is fine as I can swallow and breathe. I also concentrate on my breathing, taking slow deep breaths and telling myself I am ok. When we panic and feel stressed the muscles in our throat tighten and this can actually feel like something is stuck, and it can last for hours or days. The first time I had that feeling I went to the Dr and he explained it to me and gave me some medication to relax the muscles. I cannot actually swallow any tablets at all. Not understanding my issue was difficult, but now I have some coping strategies I manage it well most of the time. I'm happy to discuss more anytime if it helps, just didn't want to make this a really long message. Best x

Hi there Willowbrooks it’s Andy. Thank you so much for your message. I have messaged you. If you don’t get it I will reply here.👍

Hello.

A teenager and a Springer Spaniel! That’s double trouble :)

I just saw that it was 8 months when I first posted. I was in a bad way. I had some good people in this group who may not know but helped so much.

Panic attacks are just horrible! Anxiety & stress also. I hear you about the stomach pain. I’m so happy that yours has stopped.

Mindfulness techniques has helped. I would find a quiet place and do some deep breathing. YouTube has some wonderful things to help. I like the thunder and rain noises. They calm me.

I hope all is well. Message any time if you fancy a chat.

Take good care of yourself.
