Taking stuff personally

Hi Everybody - I have been in a dark place for the last few days. This evening I went walking and it helped. I hope that sharing the following here is appropriate - if it is not, I am sorry. There is this book I have called "The Four Agreements," by Don Miguel Ruiz. It is very helpful to me if I could just remember to read it! Each time I get into a sour mood, my therapist bugs me about reading this book. It is a simple book that is easy to read. For me, that really counts. In it, the second agreement is "Don't Take Anything Personally." It discusses how the things others do are all about them and not about you. Anyway, it helps me to put things back into proper perspective if I just take the time to read a few pages of it. It is (in my opinion) not a religious book, but it is a spiritual book that has helped me. I won't say any more about it, other than sharing it with you since my therapist swears by it. I hope this is helpful to you. Thank you all for listening to me this morning, and for sharing your words of encouragement. I am very grateful to each and every one of you for sharing your experience, strength and hope. You all matter and you all make a difference, regardless of whether you realize it or not.
