(Note: You do not need to have answered Questions 1 and 2 to join. You can join in the personality test with Question 3 if you are late to the party. Also, try to stick with describing what is asked or you might be jumping ahead of the personality test.)

(Special Thank You: By the way, thank you to those who responded to the previous questions. My anxieties were triggered last weekend, and enjoying your responses to my posts have really helped me get through the storm. I think I'm better now, but I'm going to at least keep posting until we get through the 7 questions.)

Question 3: Imagine yourself walking alone through a forest. You stumble across a path. You continue walking along the path until you come across a bear.

Describe the bear.

Where is the bear and what is it doing?

You need to continue on your journey, how do you get past the bear?

My Response: It's a big gray grizzly bear, the kind you see in Yellowstone, Wyoming. It's far ahead of me, sniffing around in the grass. I jump off the path to hide behind one of the super tall trees, cuss myself out for not having bear spray when I discover my cellphone has no signal, rub myself with dirt so I don't smell like my breakfast or human meat, and watch the bear eventually leave. I wait for a very long time before I come back on the path, then proceed very slowly for awhile with my eyes on high alert.

I see a cute brown baby bear . I say aww look at you. I get my camera out to take a picture. I'm scared shit but have to get the picture.

Eventually my little bear realizes I'm not a threat and continues on his way. I continue my walk. Constantly looking behind me. I get to the end of the path safely. Then I stop and get on my phone and send out my pictures ;)

I’m on a narrow, almost obscure path. So much overgrowth there’s not much light. I think I’m lost. I hear something.I freeze. The noise stops. Quiet now. Too quiet. No chatter of the woods. My heart is pounding like it never had before. I think the noise was over there. I can feel a presence, a heavy presence. A snap. A low growl. My head turns to the noise, slowly. My body remains frozen.. My eyes are searching and they don’t have to search long. My vision is blocked by blackness. Then the blackness slowly, slowly rises. My eyes follow the movement. They rise and keep rising. I want the rising to stop. Oh, please stop. Finally……it stopped. I can see why it took so long. The king of the forest was in front of me. The ruler of the green. Wisdom I’ve never seen before in a pair of eyes. Who are you, why are you in my kingdom , he softly asks. I bow my head and reply, I’m a lost human. Can you help me? Yes, he says. Follow me until you can feel the sun. I’ll leave you there. But with my favor, I ask one thing. Anything, I whisper, my head still bowed. Never return to my home again. You have your own kingdom. You have your own people who need you. If you come here again you won’t leave. He lead me out as he said he would. His massive head turned to me and our eyes met for the last time. Such eyes, such truth. I felt the sun……

Oh my, Oh my, I came across a bear on her hind legs towering over a berry shrub so high. Her jet black fur rivals the midnight sky.

She gives me a quick glance over and then a longer inquisitive gaze. Still wet from foraging for food during the downpour rain which ushered in some fog and haze.

Her belly protrudes and shows early signs of growing life and I couldn't bare the thought to use my knife.

In front of me she looks unthreatening, healthy and round but instinctual fear for a second rooted me to the ground.

There is no rhyme and no reason to my story. Certainly jumping from an African jungle to seeing a forest bear there is no consistency. Never you mind, I got my bearings and began running from the bear without any hesitancy.

Unbothered she didnt follow nor did the encounter leave me feeling bitter or hollow.

Just finished reading all and it was enjoyable. LadyZen I'm glad that the stories brought you joy during your storm. Thanks again for providing the catalyst questions for all us to participate.

I come across a polar bear. I hide behind a tree and watch it roll around and act silly, trying my hardest not to laugh out loud. I don’t dare take a picture, I figure this will forever be in my mind. I wait until the bear goes into a cave and then I leave.

Here is the analysis for Question 3. My response captured how super cautious I tend to be. What did it capture about you?:

The Bear is symbolic of problems and how you deal with them.

Tame bear: If you saw a harmless bear or a young playful bear, or even a teddy, then your life is probably stress free. When faced with a problem, you see it as a challenge or opportunity.

Menacing bear: You are more likely to see problems rather than creative challenges or opportunities. People under large routine stress will see large, dangerous bears.

If the bear has seen you but is ignoring you, then although you may be worried or anxious about something, you are not under unhealthy levels of stress.

If the bear is looking threatening or is coming right at you, you need a holiday!!! You are likely to be under high levels of stress.

How you continue your journey past the bar represents how you are affected by stress, how you deal with challenges and how you make decisions.

If you walk up to the bear, you face your problems head on. You take a direct and pragmatic approach to decision making.

If you avoid the bear, you may think your problems are insurmountable. You prefer a more indirect, non-confrontational approach to decision making.

If you ignore the bear, you pay little attention to setbacks and are not affected by stress.

If you were considering adopting the bear and taking it home, you have a healthy approach to life and every day challenges!

I really enjoyed reading about how the bear symbolized problems and the many ways one approaches problem can definitely vary.

I believe how one naturally deals with problems is unique to our core and is shaped by factors of nature and nurture. I also believe that as humans we have the ability to evolve and pick up tools in our life journey that help us help ourselves when problems arise.
