Recently had a traumatic experience with a surgery and had my first serious panic attack in a long time. I can’t seem to shake the anxiety of having another one. Finding it hard to get through the day without anxiety. Any helpful tips for me?

Hello jmf3483. I’m sorry you went through a traumatic experience that triggered a panic attach. Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are so hard to deal with and the worst part is that not everyone understands you! Pretty much only those of us who have them can relate or understand! mostly everyone else thinks you can control this! Are you seeing Doctors for this? Have you been medicated for it before? I too am going through constant anxiety and panic attacks! It’s been daily for me now for the last 50 days or so! I’m sorry I have no current answers for you because I 2 am looking for it! I join u in the fight

I had a rough surgery 2 years ago and I know what it’s like. Things that help me.. I start every morning with the Wim Hof guided breathing exercises free on you tube. I get 40 minutes of cardio exercise daily. And please don’t laugh, I go in real cold water 1-2 times daily. 9 months now and I sit in 40 degree water up to my chin. Google or you tube cold shower benifits for mental health. Cold plunge for mental health, wild swimming. It resets us.

Thank you for sharing. I am sorry you are struggling with anxiety. I have three techniques that really help me.

1) The 557 breathing technique is take 5 deep breaths in while thinking good thoughts about yourself like I matter, I am special, I am strong and then hold the breaths for the count of 7 focusing on those words about yourself, then let out the breath slowly for 5 seconds letting go of any anxious, self-defeating, unhealthy thoughts. I do this one to three times a sitting.

2)The gratitude journal is writing down something good every morning and night something that went well in the day, or something I appreciate about myself. Taking our focus off of the anxiety and depression and focusing on positive uplifting things really helps. What you think is what you believe. So thinking uplifting things you believe those things but the reverse is true - thinking negative self-defeating things, you will believe those.

3) Emotional Freedom Tapping - bit.ly/3AVYNiX You use pressure points to tap on those points while you repeat positive uplifting things to yourself.)

I will be praying for you. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to chat. Hugs and God Bless
