hi all, I was doing fine until earlier my stomach started having butterflies and feeling upset. I knew in my heart of hearts maybe it’s just an upset tummy but then I started into the spiraling of what ifs… started to get dizzy and anxiety crept in., what technique tried and true do you all use to stop the spiraling?

Hi. I doing tapping meditations with "The Tapping Solution". It has you identify where in your body the anxiety/worry/anger/etc. is being felt and walks you through tapping.

Hey Norw, I’m still doing the tapping but still feel like I’m not always hitting the exact right spots, then I kind of lose my focus and stress about it a bit. It seems like it would be better if someone else could do it to me. Do you ever have this problem? Maybe I’m over complicating it. Imagine that! 😀

in reply to

Hi there! Are you tapping along with the app? In the app, the points you need to tap on light up.Nope, can't imagine that...🙄😅

Will keep it up as I believe in the theory of it. Just need to stop worrying about doing it so “perfect.” I’m enjoying the process of it and definitely feel it benefits me … when I don’t overthink it! 😀 Thx for your support on this.

Hi Z007, the minute a butterfly feeling appears, don't fight it but allow

it to run it's course and pass by doing calming and focused breathing.

Doing belly breathing in and exhaling long and slow will actually start to

relieve those symptoms. Practice this also before you experience these

feelings in order to build a tolerance of strength and fortitude that it can

and will be done. Breathe :) xx

What can you do? You acknowledge those butterflies, and recognize that they are physical sensations with no medical significance. Somehow that made things easier for me when I went through anxiety a while back! I would let them do their thing, and I'd keep on chugging.😊

Don’t fight the sensations as that will just increase your anxiety. Acknowledge how you’re feeling but don’t get wrapped up into the feelings. Know that nothing is wrong with you and that it’s your mind playing tricks on you. Try sitting in meditation. Focus your attention on your breath and not your spiraling thoughts of doom. The biggest thing is being able to sit with your thoughts and feelings and not let them control you.
