I’m so depressed and anxious

It’s been awhile since I wrote. I left my husband and got an apartment. Now I’m so depressed. I had a very tough coteacher when I was teaching and I got terminated four weeks ago. I’ve been great with children. Oh God can’t get out of bed today. Help.

Sorry to hear of these two major events in your life. They are heavy duty. I wouldn’t want to get out of bed either.

But it sounds like you are in a perfect position to make your life fit you. Change is a bitch but can be exciting at the same time.

Go for it. Good luck.

I want to but keep thinking of the past. I’m having trouble taking care of myself. Eating sleeping. I have a therapist and psych.

Have you tried meditation? I find it helpful. Also are you on any meds?

OK, little saying for you: The Past is History; you cannot change it. The Future is a Mystery, today is all we have, and that is why it is called the Present. It is a Gift.

Cheers, Midori

You have your reasons for leaving your husband. If you believe that your reasons were valid, then this is the change that you need.

& Hopefully you will find another job working with kids soon.

Until then, give yourself credit for reaching out, and remember that we are here. :)

I’m seeing my therapist twice next week. Interviewing another and talking to psych about antidepressant.sleeping pill (didn’t work last night) and anti anxiety med. my husband pays for this apartment. I feel guilt but his shouting scares me.

Thank you for sharing. I am sorry you are struggling. You have been through alot. Changes in our life can really affect us. What we have to do is not be hard on ourselves. To focus on things that will bring us joy. Also, letting go of the past and being excited what is planned next. About five years ago, my world was turned upside down, we moved from a home I had been in over 16 years from living overseas, to a temporary place; as we hadn't planned on moving. I could have focused on the negative of how my husband was let go and we had no place to go. Instead, I prayed and knew God had something new and better in store for us. This was an opportunity to see what I wanted to do next in my life. God directed us to a new home after being in our temporary home for 1 1/2 years. Changing our persepective makes a situation go from terrible to exciting... filled with anticipation. Here is an article (bit.ly/3NbNtWK) you might find encouraging about perspective. I will be praying for you and if you ever need someone to chat with feel free to pm me. I understand the struggles of depression, but I also know catching how I deal with things, aware of my thoughts, and listening to my body makes a huge difference. Hugs and God Bless

Thank you for your response. Change is difficult for me. I’m starting to learn it can be healthy too. I just sat down by the pool. I said hello to some new people when I was going back to my apartment.

Thank you for sharing. I am so sorry for all the tough time you are going through. Loss is hard no matter what kind it is. Losing a job and leaving a husband are both consider losses. Are you able to talk to a counselor? Often local churches have ministries to help those struggling with the loss of a job and not being with a spouse anymore. The important thing is to not be hard on yourself and to take one step at a time to adjust to the new changes in your life. Here is an article you might find helpful. (bit.ly/3GWAqG7) I will be praying for you. Hugs and God Bless
