I am currently struggling with depression and anxiety. I don't drive. I have a driving permit and a car but no way to get to work because public transit doesn't come out my way. I also should mention that I have a little one to take care of with no support. I cannot work because of this. I fear facing homelessness for the first time within the next few months.

I have no answers, but I want you to know that your words were read and felt.
I can only tell you that you are not alone on your journey of healing with anxiety and depression. There are so walking the same path as you. We all carry our different life situations, but we battle A & D.
You've joined this community and shared your story. That alone is a step towards healing.
It's step toward positively coping with your anxiety and depression. Good for you.
Now, how can you get your A & D to subside a bit so that you think clearly and get on track. Anxiety and depression will always make our day to day so much more difficult. I want you fight those voices, fight those lies it whispers in our head.
Might you have trusted friends or family members that might help you during this difficult time? Are there some resources in your community you can get support from?
I know, those are broad questions with no specific solutions. I can only really speak to pain and difficulty A & D can cause and how much more difficult it can make our already complicated lives. The pain is real.
I know your situation is difficult and there is much you need to do, but your journey to heal from your anxiety and depression can be worked on anywhere, anytime. Keep that up. It will help make you feel better - and you need to feel better about yourself so that you can be of help to your little one.
I am so sorry about the stress you are going thru right now. Life is so terribly difficult.
At the very least, keep up the work of your inner healing. Don't ever stop trying to heal.
We are hear to listen - if you ever need to vent, do it here, so that you can clear that energy from your head.
Not having a support system is difficult. I am so sorry. It's very lonely and isolating when you must carry burdens alone.
It's good to know you have professional help in place even it feels like they aren't helping. I know they can't provide help to alleviate your current situation, but can they assist in helping your sort thru your anxiety and depression? I know the psych is there for med management only - they can't really provide much else.
But your counselor? I hope you keep talking to them or possibly switching if you feel the relationship isn't working. But please keep seeing somebody so that you can sort out your feelings and thoughts.
Hang in there! Keep writing - it's a good way to release negative energy and to organize your thoughts.
Hi simplyjustme,Thanks for taking the time to share. You are doing the right thing by reaching out for help. Sometimes in life we are in a place where we need help and at other times we are in a place to give help.
You definitely have many challenges that you are facing. What possible resources are available for you, such as government assistance? Since you have a child, chances are you might be eligible for cash assistance and help with food. If you attend a church, they might be able to help you.
I also do not have a car. I cannot afford one and public transportation is limited where I live. Fortunately, I have been able to get around by bike.
I can only tell you what helps me. I take my medicine. I am on a beta blocker and klonopin for anxiety. I don’t have depression, I tried about 6 antidepressants and they made me worse. I start every morning with the Wim Hof guided breathing exercises free on you tube. If you don’t like this one they have several on you tube. When I’m done with this I have energy and confidence. I don’t take many hot showers any more, maybe one a week. I take barely warm showers , and rinse in cold water 5 minutes. If you can’t do cold do cool and work colder. You can do 30-40 minutes of cardio exercise daily. You tube has aerobics or jogging in place or Zumba etc. And I pray to our creator for strength. You can do this , I know you can.
