Does Indica Med-weed make my anxiety worse? They say its a prescription. I just want to know, before I have a panic attack. My therapist has told me that it could make my paranoid or worsen my anxiety. She said that even though it's medical weed it could be still like the cannabis drug dealers sell.

Street or clinic marijuana is the same.I do smoke and find a small amount can relax but to much and I accomplish nothing and then feel bad that I accomplished nothing.Like any medication I think it might be worth a try just start slow and see how you feel.Of course only if legal?

Okay. Thanks. I'll try that. Because, I've just been going to the dispensary and buying anything.

It is regulated thus it is clean and predictable. It is recreationally legal here...I found the sellers in the dispensary knew what they were talking about so I would ask them. There are many different kinds even within sativa and indica. Indica is not always relaxing. You can also get some that are 95+% CBD and just a little THC. This is what was recommended to me.

Note that it is still not well researched so take it very slowly. In fact I really only used it for sleeping sometimes. When I did it was far better than a pill. No hangover of any sort.

Thanks for your advice! I use to think sativa makes people have hangovers and make people feel hyper, but indica relaxes people.

i always forget and I think it has more to do with other characteristics. My therapist gave me something to remember but of course I forget. Something like satiated vs ?

My husband and I were traveling last summer and my anxiety was absolutely crazed. We found a CBD store and I told the guy what was happening. He recommended Delta 8. My being older, a few years from retirement, I never did the whole pot scene. This, however, when I take a very small amount, makes the darkness go away. I’ve found it more comforting right now because my darkness says this is my last year. I can’t believe I just shared that, but that’s been my mindset since Christmas. Delta 8 in my state is legal. It falls under the farmers act. Will Delta 8 totally psych you out and give you a bad trip? Oh yes, if you use too much. That’s not my goal. But I have been very vocal with my husband that it takes the darkness away to a level I honestly never knew existed. I’m much more peaceful. I’m functioning really well. I’m a full time career type person, and for me, it’s a miracle. For the first time in my 56 years of living, I see hope. I see life. I see beauty. I have no way of knowing what will help you, but Delta 8 is a miracle for me. I don’t smoke, so I use a tincture. There are different “mixtures” of the kind I use, one called Happy, another Calm, and one called Focus. I’ve been testing to see which formula helps more, but Calm is my choice, second is Happy.

I hope you find peace and comfort. 💕

Thank you. I appreciate the advice, and recommendations.

That seller wasn't entirely honest. Delta-8 is THC. CBD doesn't get you high. There might be other options to investigate. fda.gov/consumers/consumer-...

I’m not sure if you or I are/am misreading something. I never said the guy wasn’t honest. He introduced me to a different product. I went for CBD oil that I had tried before. I didn’t get that, I went with the Delta 8. It most certainly will give you a wild (and scary for me) trip. But that’s not why I use it. I’m not a fan of being altered from medication. Or maybe I should say that type of altered. I’m not looking for a high. I’ve found something that, in very small doses, helps me not think about suicide 24/7. For that sole reason, I’ll keep using the Delta 8.

Gotcha... I did indeed twist the words around. I use some in a low dose too but I got something that was like 95% cbd/5% thc. One was sativa and one was indica. I am super sensitive to meds so I didn't even eat a whole gummy at a time. when I did it just made me feel closer to drunk without the hangover and other alcohol badness. Neither gave me the munchies either.

I get what you're saying some people do misread on here.

In addition, why would you want a wild, scary trip for you from taking your medicine? I think @GrayGoose66 is saying that when she used Delta 8 she took a smaller dosage.

Exactly. Some of my anxiety is my desire to control things, or at least be ahead of the game. Tripping like I did was 1. No fun at all and 2. Made my anxiety worse because I felt so out of control.

No fun makes me feel anxiety too.

That particular strain does cause you to get high. You definitely want a low dose but not all combinations are like that. CBD does not cause a high at all. The problem with cbd is all the hype means there is a lot of crap. There are also different strains of THC that do or do not cause the munchies for example. Best thing is to go to a dispensary with a good reputation. Reading is great too.

I am almost 63. Have you seen the t v show , the 70,s show? That’s really how it was back then. I was a 3 sport athlete all through school. But I had some friends who were dope smokers . And they were fine people. And good students. They told me I had to get stoned with them when I was done with mr sr year of high school sports. And because I had known them for years and trusted them I said I would. I was scared because there were some kids who were into hard drugs besides weed. And they said they don’t like what those people are doing. Many of them hard drug people didn’t make it. But they told me weed is not addictive. So we got stoned. I was almost 18. I didn’t like it as much as drinking. But I have taken 2-4 puffs once a week since 1977. Yes, 2-4 puffs one night a week since 1977. 4 puffs when it was weaker 2 now stronger. It makes my anxiety worse. Each and every time. Indica is better than sativa for less anxiety. They even have a mix of the 2. They say the more you smoke the anxiety goes away. I have friends who are stoned from 5 am to 7 pm when they crash . Single people my age . They are single and nobody wants to have a relationship with them. Because they are stoners with low ambition. One of them quit for a year. And he started again and he called me and said.. man I feel that anxiety you talk about. So even a guy who had no anxiety from 50 years of doing it. Had bad anxiety for awhile when he quit and came back a year later. But I’m sure as a tolerance is built the anxiety is less .

Deep breathing exercises and cold showers or cold plunge . And 40 minutes of daily cardio exercise is better for my anxiety than weed .

Everyone responds differently, just like with regular meds. It could cause anxiety. I tried a sublingual tincture from the dispensary with THC for anxiety and had such a bad reaction I almost called 911.

GrayGoose66 in reply to bethelbee

Absolutely. The first time I used this, I used way too much. That is one thing I wasn’t prepared for. And yes, I told my husband repeatedly I was going to die and I would be so embarrassed is I died from THC. You definitely have to be careful. In very small amounts, it helps me. There are those who cannot take aspirin or certain antibiotics. Everyone’s body is wired differently.

As for me, I live in California and use tents for growing weeds. I have read a review - on topgrows.com/best-4x4-grow-... and have chosen Cool Grows Hydroponic, One of the Best 4×4 Grow Tents. This growing tent was super easy to put together; no tools were needed! I love the 4 vent socks that can easily be plugged up when not used to contain light. The silver lining inside the tent does a good job reflecting my grow light. It comes with 4 adjustable length straps to hang any light from the ceiling cross brackets. I love the mesh storage pockets to keep my extra straps and trimmer organized.
