I had a failed suicide attempt last August, I tried seeing a counselor a year or so before that but she claimed I was too much for her and dumped me as a patient! After my failed suicide attempt, I got a psychologist who diagnosed me with Major Depression Disorder.. then when I started getting more involved in my treatment, she started backing away. I just lost my 2nd psychology help and I'm feeling very rejected and sad...

What very little trust I have is gone..

Wow, I feel sad for you while reading this. I experienced, well not being dumped, but directly being told my problems were too much for that psychologist to handle. She explained the system a bit though, so she did refer me to people who might be able to better help me. Maybe something like that would help in your case?

I don't know for every country in the world of course, but there are mostly gradations in psychological help. You have therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrist and maybe even more. Every has his/her/their own speciality. Maybe an idea to look into the specialities, see how they relate to your problems and maybe like that you would be able to find someone who would be able to handle helping you with your problems?

My psychologist was specialized in Major Depression Disorder, which makes all this just that much harder. Things have been, well sad since I got out of the hospital.. I have Fibromyalgia along with some other health problems and I'm working on my 3rd bout with SSD...

My mind just keeps saying "I don't know "

I don't know what's going to happen when SSD calls on her to testify.

I don't know what my future is..

I don't know if I want to try again with another counseling type person.. my heart says "why bother ".

Hi, sorry, due to my own problems, I'm not online much.

Hmm, that indeed makes it more difficult for you. Maybe a psychotherapist can help you better? For as far as I know, psychotherapist handle more indepth and severe problems than psychologists. Having fibromyalgia must be hard for you. Sorry I don't know what you mean with "3rd bout with SSD"? If I search SSD I get things about harddrives, but that's for sure not what you mean.

It tiring to switch psychologists, I experience that also. It's hard. Sometimes it can turn out for the better though. I have talked to quite some, throrough my life and in my opinion, the way a psychologist or psychotherapist etc. helps you and can help you depends on their studies background, experience but also their character! It's psychology, so it's all about the mind. Psychologists have their knowledge of course, but they also have to put their own mind into it to be able to help. Or can't evade. It just happens. Maybe knowing this now can help you motivate a bit to try move towards someone who can help you better? I really experience different perceptions from different psychologists and therefore some are better able to help me then others. And sometimes it's not a matter of better, but an other way or with other things. I think that specific psychologist just couldn't help you. I'm sure there must be someone who can help you better.
