Do you have visitation dreams from diseased loved ones? What do you feel about it?

Both my parents and a few of my siblings passed away during various stages of my life. I also lost a beloved dog. Often I had dream of them, sometimes these dreams are comforting, and sometimes they are not, even triggering an anxiety attack. What do you feel about the visitation dreams?

I am a very detailed dreamer, and often dream of deceased family, friends, etc.

Part of me feels that dreams represent some unfinished business that we have not settled. I usually dream about my childhood home, the neighbors there, the animals, and family visits me there. Other times I dream about my favorite job that I left too soon. In both cases, I feel like they represent something unfinished that I am trying to resolve.

However, there is the emotional side of me that takes such comfort in the dreams. I can talk to my relatives, friends, and enjoy the places and jobs that I loved. In one detailed dream my late grandfather revealed something to me that turned out to be true. People were shocked that I dreamt it, and I do not remember having read or learned it prior to the dream.

Bottom line for me, it brings me (us) peace, and that is a good thing. If it brings anxiety, maybe try lucid dreaming, or resolving the trigger prior to sleeping. Either way, I feel like dreams are a wonderful moment in time away from reality.

For some of the dreams, I would remember for a long time, not a day or two, definitely set

My heart goes out to you Kenny... it must be so heart breaking... I'm sorry.

It's a natural part of losing that loved one or family member. Sometime it has bothered me, especially when you have put the grief behind you and like they were still alive they pop into your dreams, you can even ask them how and why they are here as you know even in your dreams they should be deceased so why are they here and it can bother you and spoil your mind for days on end as the dreams are so vivid, It can bring on anxiety especially if you have attacks and your natural response system is out of control and needs re-booting. I learned to wake myself up, realize it is a dream and go back to sleep, sometimes it does not work. Try not to over dwell on what you dream about. You can also put a notepad by your bed, when you get a vision or a night terror or nightmare, write it down as vivid at the time it is and what you have then done is offload the importance of the dream and documented it, you should feel better and it may ease. It's a bit like Worry Dolls from Peru, I used to sell these and people actually said they work, they tell each tiny doll a worry then place them under your pillow. If you are religious, you could put a prayer inside your pillowcase to protect you at night, often different cultures do different methods for dealing with dream state, Native Americans and Mayan cultures all believe this is the way all ancestors get in touch with you and they even induce the state of sleep or drunkenness to see these spirits and be among them. Whatever you choose if your own affair but to conclude, it is quite normal. read up on it as you will get a far better understanding of it and how to deal with it next time. Best wishes.

I had an operation in which I nearly died, my dad was there holding my hand. I never normally dream or if I do I forget. I remembered dad coming though, I think he was saying fight you are not dying yet.

My mom has them a lot. It helped her to visit the graveyard and do traditional rituals for honouring them. It calmed her. Also make sure to calm your nervious system before bed. I have a lot of nightmares because i'm stressed. And wake up with panic attacks. I can't go to bed untill i calm. Also don't be scared, such Dreams mostly mean guidance from ancestors. Honour them and let them go.Everything is gonna be okay. You've got this.
