Hi, I take Mirtazapine @ Remeron at night for the same reason, using the sedating properties to get me off to sleep. Just watch out for the unwelcome possible side effects of weight gain and increase in appetite though. I also drink a glass of water before bed to ward off the dry mouth ( a nasty side effect which can increase the chances of tooth decay).

Hoping this is drug is the one for you and the benefits outweigh the side effects.

Also try the Wim Hof guided breathing exercises free on you tube. Get 40 minutes of cardio exercise to tire you out for sleep. A cool rinse after your shower, going for pure cold shower in a few months. This all helps me.

I've had issues with high blood pressure and was put on bp medicine. I've also had white coat syndrome and so did my father. I read where eating a square of dark chocolate daily and drinking beet juice can help reduce bp so I eat the chocolate and make a drink of beet juice. lemon juice and 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar. I drink it through a straw so the acv doesn't harm the enamel on my teeth. I'm amazed at how much I like the drink. It all seems to be helping reduce the bp.

I also had issues with insomnia and high cortisol levels so I quit caffeine and started taking ashwaghanda, phosphatidyl serine and magnesium glycinate at bedtime. I also take melatonin. Another thing is to try not worrying about not sleeping and know that eventually your body and mind will calm and you will sleep. We can actually go for a number of days without sleep and still function well.
